91-11-26588641 http://www.aiims.ac.in/ His special area of interest is organ

transplantation. He has spent about two years in the United Kingdom first at

the Royal Free Hospital in London where he was actively involved in the renal

transplant program. From London he was appointed as a Transplant Fellow in the

Academic Surgical Unit at St. James’s University hospital where he trained

extensively in liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation. He currently does

about 70 live related renal transplants every year. In 1997 he returned back to

Leeds as a Senior transplant Fellow to train further in Liver and Pancreatic

transplantation. He has recently started a simultaneous kidney and Pancreas

Transplant program in India and has done the first successful simultaneous

kidney pancreas transplant in the country. I do strongly feel that surgical

leadership is just as important as medical inputs in the management of these

complex patients.

diagnosed as junior diabatic. According to doctors

his pancreas his not functioning. He has to inject insulin into his body

everyday. His father has left them. His mother is a teacher who is supporting

her two children alone. His father was informed but he is not bothered. Can any
