At last we have some good news! About 3 weeks ago Meggie started to move and the posturing (muscle spasms) of her whole body have reduced by about 95% which is an enormous relief to us as we were at the end of our tether with worry & sorrow. The list of things that Meggie is doing is getting longer day by day and she is very enthusiastic about moving forwards although she is still not quite 100% Meggie yet in conciousness. She is relating to us and her suroundings more and more though and has a wonderful sense of humour even though her communication tools are very limited at the moment. She now moves practically all parts of her body on her own and when we ask her to without any delay. The tracheostemy comes out next week and hopefully all will go smoothly and we are hoping and praying that she will start to speak again, as we have not heard her voice for almost 6 months now. She is also staring to eat very small amounts of food which is great and we will keep working on that. We constantly tell her how fantastically she is doing and include her in our daily life always, making her laugh & entertaining her so she always feels part of what is going on around her. There is no doubt that Sai Baba is with her & us all the way on this jouney, she has been through absolute hell and has suffered enormously, shes been through more in the last 6 months than most of us would in a lifetime, but she has always got through every obstacle (& there have been many!) and come out the other side safely. She still has a long way to go but the relief we feel is great as we can now see a light at the end of the tunnel. We have kept every single e-mail you have sent to us and it is only because of you and other special people in our lives that we have been able to get through to where we are now, you will never know how much your support is appreciated, its the one thing that has kept us strong enough to cope. Please, please keep you e-mails coming, we havn't had any for a while and they mean the world to us. Thank you, thank you so very much for everything & an enormous thank you to Sai Baba. Much love, Jackie, Martin, Meggie & Holly xxxx _______________ Discover fun and games at @ http://xtramsn.co.nz/kids
