Himalaya is situated in the bank of river Gandaki. In the south of this Himalaya

a big and beautiful land is situated where you can find saligrams sila. This is

the place where Devi Dwarabati begins. This place is called Mukti Chektra.

Saligram Sila found here are very precious and significant. These silas are

consider as Lord Vishnu and the person who worship or keep in house or wash it

and drinks water or pour water in head that man became free from all sine and

it prevent from untimely death. That person became free from all sine and

disease. The most feared sine Bramahatya( Killing a Brahmin) is also wash away

by worshiping Saligram.

Yellowish Saligram is very auspicious as Lord himself but reddish saligram is

consider fearful and dangerous. Sankha, Cakra, Gada, Kurma are printed on

saligram. Saligram with Sankha (conch) sign is considering Vamrup of lord

Vishnu, where chakra in the middle is consider as Damadar saligram. Saligrams

of different shapes round, umbrella shape which has white lines is available;

worshiping this kind of saligram gives wealth and reputation in society. Flat

shape saligram create sorrow in family and saligram with sharp front side

create war and tension in family

Dasa || With Keshava in the form of Salagrama sila reside all the devatas,

asuaras, yaksas and the fourteen worlds.--- Padma Purana: Lord Shiva states,

"My devotees who offer obeisances to the shalagrama even negligently become

fearless. Those who adore me while making a distinction between myself and Lord

Hari will become free from this offence by offering obeisances to shalagrama.

Those who think themselves as my devotees, but who are proud and do not offer

obeisances to my Lord Vasudeva, are actually sinful and not my devotees. O my

son, I always reside in the shalagrama. Being pleased with my devotion the Lord

has given me a residence in His personal abode. Giving a shalagrama, is the best

form of charity, being equal to the result of donating the entire earth together

with its forests, mountains, and all.

require installation ceremony. When one begins the worship of shalagrama,

however he should start with elaborate

puja using all articles. The worship of shalagrama is the best form of worship,

charanamrita mixed with Tulasi leaves from the shalagrama in their hand and sip

The Saligramas

Basically described as fossil-stones and characterized by the presence of discus

marks. The saligrama-stones (black stones in which fossil ammonites are

embedded) are the most celebrated universally. Worship of these stones is

widespread and dates back to a distant past. They are worshipped in temples,

monasteries and households all over the world, as visible and natural emblems

of Vishnu.. They are also worshipped in quasi-religious functions like

house-warming (grha-pravesa, vastu-puja), pacificatory rites of different sorts

(santi), marriages and funerary rituals.The legend, related at length tells us

that Lord vishnu for benefit of mankind in kaliyuga comes in earth in the form

of saligram and in tulsi tree.Like the worship of Siva in the form of a linga,

the worship of Vishnu in the shape of a Saligram, is aniconic in character.The

person who offers a daily service for the saligrama stone will be freed from

the fear of death, and he will cross over

the stream of births and deaths.

Ways To Worship Rudraksha / Saligram:-

Once you choose the Rudraksha or saligram to procure and then wash it with fresh

water and Put in Worshipping place.Rudraksha/Saligram Puja done with the

offering of following items .

Punchgavya – Mix of Cow’s dung, urine , milk , ghee and curd .Water mixed with

Kusha grass for sprinkling and a spoon . 9 leaves of peepal tree arranged on a

plate . Plate for offerings to be placed during Puja . Dhoop , Incense sticks

Camphor and lamp Sandal paste . Rice grains mixed with asthagandha . Ghee lamp

(one wick) Offerings - Cloth, Flower, Fruit, Betel nut - Paan , Coconut

Sit on an Asan facing east .

Wash Rudraksha with Punchagavya.

Then wash with water .Place Rudraksha in a plate with 9 leaves of Peepal tree .

Chant 3 times

“Om Namah Shivaya “ And chant the mantra of individual Rudraksha 108 times.Mantra Of Rudraksha

Puja should be done daily if possible.
