Rivalry between Vishwamitra and Vashista - Can it be true ?

I think the tales about rivalry between Vishwamitra and Vashista maybe

blownup out of proportions and I sincerely do't believe that anyone

who has't got rid of jealous and hatred about another person and has

so much anger and competitiveness on another human being, can become a

Rishi. Because this is opposite to the very concept spiritual

progress. May be because Vishvamitra and Vashista were contemporaries,

having crossed their path at different occations, people would have

fancied their rivalry. Also as some stories say, each had 100 sons

each and more, is hard to digest. Basic criteria for a Brahma Rishi

status is practicing Bramhacharya.

 

I have lot of respect for Vishvamitra for his Gayatri Mantra and now

the reveleation on Dhanvanthry Mantra has doubled my respect. I also

read the book by Mrs. Vasantha, who is supposed to be the

reincornation of Radha, that she took a boon from Vishamitra , who

gave her darshan, that Swami (Sri Satya Saibaba) who is the

reincornation of Sri Krishna should always think of her the same way

she does. I believe after that Swami told to her not to take such
