This is to inform everyone the work undertaken by the Seva Dal in Maharashtra. On 26th July the torrential rains devastated the city of Mumbai and interiors of maharashtra. In some places of Maharashtra the Seva Dal volunteers were the first to reach in Raincoats and Boats for the rescue operations. The Seva Dals worked continuously for nearly two days without any sleep or rest and not going home.They also worked without the help of any administrations help and today in many places the local administation have started admiring the spirit with which the SEVA DAL worked without expecting any Publicity or help nor personal gains. This information has reached many EARS now and just yesterday Chairman of The State Bank Of India called on the State President of Sathya Sai Organisation and requested that they be allowed to donate Packets of Food Materials to the needy through the Volunteers of SSSO, since they are confident that it would reach the right persons on time. Every sai Devotees home staying in different parts of Mumbai especially in Central Mumbai had been made into a temprorary home for those who could not reach back their destination due to water logging. The stranded Individuals were provided witjh food, tea and water not to mention about clothes to change. Some of the villages which was washed out by the floods were provided with clothes, food and basic necessities by the Organisation. It was organisation set up of 15 samithies spread all over Mumbai and new Mumbai which helped the mobility as the vehicular traffics had come to a halt. After the first part of rescue operations the Organisation has started the second round of its operations by conducting Medical camps everday at various places which were affected with a view to prevent any epidemic taking place. This weekend again all over the city and suburbs food distribution and medical camps would be held.The packets of fodd materials being packed day and night. The SSSO has been working ver silently without any Publicity hence this detailed report for all devotees to know.
