Guest guest
Guru's Grace - Three Dimensions Pranava Mantra, 'AUM' echoes the chanting of the names of Trimurtis -Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheswara. 'AUM' comprising the letters A, U and M defines— Akaroh Vishnu Rudhista Uukarasthu Maheswara Maharasthu Smrotho Brahma Pranavasthu Triyathmaha. So also, one's guru is the embodiment of Triumvarate - Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheswara. But our Sadguru Sainath has given us a broader spectrum of devotion by his emphasis on one God and one religion, breaking the man-made barriers of caste and creed. Hindu, Muslim, Sikh Isacc Sab Ko Sadguru is our Sai Sai. Moreover, a guru can confer his grace on his devotees by different methods of which three types are very significant :— (1) Guru blesses one by his touch. As a hen hatches eggs by contact. This is Sparisa diksha. A Guru's most sacrosanct act. (2) Miss not his grace by vision. That softens the heart, matures the mind. A tortoise feeds her young ones by its glance. (3) Manasa diksha is thought source. Blessings to sishyas far away. A fish uses mental force for its eggs get life and gay. Sri Sai Baba has blessed his devotees by all these benedictions. Sparisa diksha—Once, Sadguru, Sai Baba asked Das Ganu Maharaj to do nama saptaha. But Das Ganu replied Baba that he would do it provided he was assured of the appearance of Lord Vittal at the end of the seventh day. Then, Sai Baba placing his hand on his chest, assured him that Vittal would certainly appear provided the devotee was earnest and devout. Baba once placed his protecting hand on Balasahib Mirikar and saved him from a snake bite. Sins of many past births of a devotee are washed away by the touch of Guru's hand. When the disciples's egoism props up. Guru presses it down with his hand and giving his own power, makes him gain his object and blesses him. Nayana diksha.—Sri Sai Baba told Mrs. Radhabai Deshmukh that his Guru always protected him by his glance as the tortoise feeds her young ones whether they are near or far away from her on the other side of the river bank. Baba said 'Guru's tortoise like loving glance, gives happiness". Baba told Hemadpant, 'The tortoise glance is, to the young ones, a downpour of nectar, the only source of sustenance and happiness. Similar is the relation between the Guru and the disciples'. Harish Chandra Pitele learnt from many that our Sadguru Sai Baba by mere touch and glance cured many diseases. His son was cured of epilepsy. Mr. Sathe, who was dragged to Shirdi by Baba'a grace, became calm and composed by seeing Baba's form, which was like eternal Brahma, self-luminous, spotless and pure. Manasa diksha.—Sri Sai Baba worked upon Magha, a devout Shiva Bhaktha, internally (mentally) and made him see Lord Siva in Sai's form. Baba is all pervasive. One day in 1910, Baba was pushing firewood into the dhuni. Suddenly, Baba started pushing his arm into the fire. This was done to save a child of a blacksmith slipping into a furnace. This is manasa diksha of a rare kind. Baba made Mr. Cholkar, a Civil Court servant of Thane, understand that he (Baba) got the sugarcandy as per his (Cholkar's) vow, and Baba knew fully well about Cholkar's secret determination to use less sugar for his tea in order to save money for the Shirdi trip. What Baba meant to say is, 'If you spread your palms with devotion before Me, I am immediately with you day and night. Though I am here bodily, still I know what you do beyond seven seas'. Sai philosophy is based on integral experience and not merely on theoretical axioms. By his touch, a Guru transforms the devotee from the mundane clay to spiritual gold. A Sai bhandhu, to ever have the glance of his Guru, must have a solemn portrait of Sai Baba in his house. Thus, Baba becomes our Graha Vaasi. By the grace of Manasa diksha, Baba will ever become a Guha Vaasi. the highest degree of devotion. S. Natarajan, Bangalore-1.
