Guest guest
A Quotation from Bhagawan One meaning of karma, which is mostly accepted, is that it is one's destiny or fate, the inescapable writing on the brow, which has to work itself out, and there is no escaping it. But people forget that it is written by one's own hand and not by someone else, and hence the hand which wrote it can also wipe it off. The husk with which paddy (rice) is born can be removed with effort; similarly, the maya which persuaded you to write that destiny can also be conquered by doing good deeds. You might say, as someone has taught you to believe, that the karma of the previous birth has to be 'consumed' in this birth and that this is inescapable. But, I want to assure you that you do not have to suffer from karma like that. Just as body pain can be subdued by a morphine injection, similarly, Grace is like that; the pain is not felt though you go through it. My Grace can take away the malignity of the karma which you have to undergo. The Lord can save a true devotee from the karma of the previous birth by taking over on Himself the consequence. My Grace can countermand everything, nothing can stand in its way. SSS: Vol. IV; Page 164.
