pray that all our negative energy be transformed - let us sincerely chant Loka

Samastha - for every being in the world and not be selfish by thinking of our

family and friends only -

I received this email.

 

it would be nice if we can all join the Northeast

Region of the United States in the prayers for the

world.

 

Jagadeshan spoke to us in India about Baba falling and

injuring his shoulder and hip. He offered that he

thought Baba was takingÊ the evil of the world ONTO

HIS OWN BODY. When devotees begged Baba not to do this

anymore, Jagadeshan reported that Baba said "Okay,

Chandi Homa" which is a yagna where negative energy is

absorbed by the divine feminine part of God. Several

Chadi homas have been done all over the world.

 

Jagadeshan explained that the organization itself

cannot encourage all devotees to attend these Homas as

they are Hindu rites and it is unfair, for instance,

to tell devotees of other religions to do a Hindu

religous rite. I thought about that and asked myself

what we as devotees might do to help with the

destruction of negative energy in the world.

 

I came up with the folliwing idea: Every day, I would

repeat three Gayathris, three Sai Gayathris and Three

lokas SPECIFICALLY INTENDING that the power of those

prayers fill the world with loving divine energy and

WILLING that it be so.Ê

 

I spoke to Peter Goldberg our region's devotion

coordinator. He liked the idea and spoke to the

organization. the Northeast Region has adopted the

idea. The letter below is Peter's letter to the

centers.

 

The more we as devotees work together in harmonious

devotion and seva, the more we can magnify the intent.

With effort, we can spread this devotion for peace

throughout the centers worldwide. We are not asking

Sai/God for anyTHING by this practice. We are

activating our divine being and putting love out there

in place of negative energy. Please think about this.

I'd like to know that you are chanting the Gayatri,

the Sai Gayathri and the Loca at least three times

each every day with me, with my center, with the

region, with the country, with the ......

 

Sai Ram! Center Presidents and Devotion Coordinators,

 

I hope all is going well in your centers and you are

enjoying this beautiful late summer weather. A number

of you have come to me over the last several months

with ideas for a regional devotion activity. It seems

like now is the time to act on these ideas. There is

so much turmoil in the world and dear beloved Swami's

physical body is suffering from many challenges. One

thing that Swami always reminds us is the power of a

sincere prayer along with divine grace we can achieve

anything. Pray for the welfare and happiness of all.

This prayer is the need of the hour. You should never

With this thinking in mind we ask each center to join

together in the following program. Let us use the

prayers that Baba has told us are most potent, namely

the Gayatri and Loka Samasta. The Sai Gayatri may be

included, as well or any combination of these prayers

that you feel would be most relevant to your group. We

ask each center to set aside time at the next

available meeting to chant 108 Gayatris and if you

wish, add Sai Gayatris or Loka Samastas as well. The

goal of this activity is to focus on a peaceful world

and Swami with a healthy body. Once this initial

session is complete, please encourage your center

members to keep this momentum going by practicing any

one or all of these prayers on a daily basis. Possibly

3, or 9,Êor 81 per day; whatever each individual feels

is appropriate for them. The proposed culmination of

this program will take p lace at 8:00 PM on November

22, 2005. We ask each center to meet and reprise their

original prayer session as a group to reach Swami as

His birthday morning will be arriving at Prashanthi

Nilayam.

 

ÊI hope that you are as excited about this idea as we

are. Please feel free to contact me with any questions

regarding this program. Any feedback from you or your

center members about the efficacy of this program will

be greatly appreciated.

 

In order to point out the power of prayer we have

included a story from a recent SSE publication. If you

feel your group would benefit from hearing it, please

read it to them.

 

Faith Can Move Mountains (SSE Aug. 2005)

 

A small congregation in the foothills of the Great

Smoky Mountains built a new sanctuary on a piece of

land willed to them by a church member.Ê Ten days

before the new church was to open, the local building

inspector informed the pastor that the parking lot was

inadequate for the size of the building.Ê Until the

church doubled the size of the parking lot, they would

not be able to use the new sanctuary.Ê Unfortunately,

the church, with its undersized lot, had used every

inch of their land except for the mountain against

which it had been built.Ê In order to build more

parking spaces, they would have to move the mountain

out of the back yard.Ê Undaunted, the pastor announced

the next Sunday morning that he would meet that

evening with all members who had "mountain moving

faith."Ê They would hold a prayer session asking God

to re move the mountain from the back yard and to

somehow provide enough money to have it paved and

painted before the scheduled opening dedication

service the following week. At the appointed time, 24

of the congregation's 300 members assembled for

prayer.Ê They prayed for nearly three hours.Ê At ten

o'clock the pastor said the final "Amen."Ê "We'll open

next Sunday as scheduled," he assured everyone.Ê"God

has never let us down before and I believe He will be

faithful this time too."Ê

 

The next morning as he was working in his study there

came a loud knock at his door.Ê When he called "Come

in," a rough looking construction foreman appeared,

removing his hard hat as he entered.Ê "Excuse me,

Reverend.Ê I'm from Acme Construction Company over in

the next county.Ê We're building a huge new shopping

mall over there and we need some fill dirt.Ê Would you

be willing to sell us a chunk of that mountain behind

the church?Ê We'll pay you for the dirt we remove and

pave all the exposed area free of charge, if we can

have it right away.Ê We can't do anything else until

we get the dirt in and allow it to settle properly."

The little church was dedicated the next Sunday as

originally planned, and there were far more members

with"mountain moving faith" on opening Sunday than

there had been the previous week! Would you have shown

up for that prayer meeting?Ê Some people say faith

comes from miracles.Ê But others know miracles come

from faith!ÊÊÊ
