When Sri Sathya Sai Baba speaks He is full of humility and His love for the

audience expresses itself in the way He addresses them as Divyatma Swaroopas or

prema swaroopas (Embodiments of Love). He begins His discourses with a poem,

which He composes on the spot and which contains the essence of the talk to

follow. He uses simple daily situations to explain the most profound of truths.

His brevity, clarity, fluency and faultless dictation add to the universal

appeal of His message.

The core of this teachings deals with the unity of God, the unity of mankind and

the unity of all religions. His message is informal and has relevance to daily

living. It enchants and moves the audience to heights of ecstasy. They absorb

or drink in every word that comes from His lips. Such happiness suffusing an

entire audience is rare and such spontaneous discipline is hardly ever seen at

such large meetings.

Those who are near Sai Baba know that He is a perfect speaker and a delightful

bhajan singer. As He speaks in front of audiences sometimes ranging up to

hundred thousand strong, His flowing orange robe and crown of black hair arrest

attention, in spite of His frail and small figure. The moment He starts

speaking, His voice, rich, resonant and stirring, fill the atmosphere with a

pleasing cadence. His speech is effortless and eloquent and He uses parables

and analogies. His dramatic personality, signs and exhortation evoke ready

response in listeners. HIS message lingers in the minds of people, reverberates

in their hearts and moves millions around the globe.

To listen to Sri Sathya Sai Baba is not only a thrilling experience but also an

object lesson in the art of public speaking. HE is a supreme artist. He builds

His arguments with lightning speed. There is nothing that is extra or

irrelevant in what HE says.

HIS talks are interesting to all the age groups in the gathering. Some highly

intellectual people may feel that some points are over-simplified by Swami, but

this is exactly what makes the talk appeal to a mixed group of people of

different ages and stages of spiritual growth.

Sai Baba's talks goes directly to the heart, because of the pure stream of love

that accompanies it. When He speaks about truth and love, one gets the feeling

that Baba is the personification of what He speaks and that He knows truth and

love with His total being. How many others speak on such objects and even

though they made a good impact, somehow you feel that they and things which

they talk are far apart!

His analogies are simple and direct. Swami often uses humour in His talks to

explain a point. His message becomes unforgettable because of His unique

presentation. He emphasises the importance of exercising care in speech. Your

speech indicates your character, reveals your personality, educates others and

communicates experiences and information. BE VIGILANT OF WORDS. If you slip

while walking, the injury can be repaired. But if you slip while talking, the

injury is irreparable.
