(a short story)

This is a true story which happened in the States.

A man came out of his home to admire his new truck. To his puzzlement, his

three-year-old son was happily hammering dents into the shiny paint of the

truck.

The man ran to his son, knocked him away, hammered the little boy's hands into pulp as punishment.

When the father calmed down, he rushed his son to the hospital.

Although the doctor tried desperately to save the crushed bones, he finally had

to amputate the fingers from both the boy's hands.

When the boy woke up from the surgery & saw his bandaged stubs, he innocently

said, "Daddy, I'm sorry about your truck." Then he asked, "but when are my

fingers going to grow back?"

The father went home & committed suicide.

Think first before u lose your patience with someone u love.

Think about this story the next time when you get anger, because of your kids

actions. We've to control our anger. If we can't... it grow endless, and, do

harm... first the opposer, and, then oneself.

Trucks can be repaired.. Broken bones & hurt feelings often can't.

Too often we fail to recognize the difference between the person and the performance.

We forget that forgiveness is greater than revenge.

People make mistakes. We are allowed to make mistakes. But the actions we take

while in a rage will haunt us forever.

Jai Sai Ram,

So sad! Very important lesson learned hard way.

Of course the poor boy lost his fingers as well as his

father....very heavy price for one's limitless anger!

My mother in law always emphasise on controlling

anger especially dealing with a child. She used to say

never ever hit your child, however angry you are with

the mischief of your child, instead of slapping the

child, divert the same slap to your face! How true!

If this gentleman had followed the same priciple,

the boy would have certainly stopped denting the truck

and the result would have been totally different!

Jai Sai Ram.

Om Jai Sai

Raam Brother Ranganath,

What a

wonderful lesson to al A reminder

to all….Anger as Swami says,” Equals to One of the evils of life”

Anger, however, is simpler to define than

it is to identify. Emotions of antagonism can take on a wide variety of faces.

Expressions of anger range from the overt, in-your-face brand of open hostility

to the cool indifference of a silent stare.

color:navy">At times, anger can feel like an inner fire. It hits you in the

gut. You see red and feel hot and sweaty. Your stomach churns; your blood

pressure rises, and your breathing rate increases as if you're laboring under a

heavy weight. Outwardly, your body responds to the internal activity with a

flushed appearance. You perspire, your nostrils may flare, and your jaw

tightens. Many people describe their experience of anger as their blood

boiling.

Destructive, Selfish Anger.

In most cases, the anger that moves a person to do harm to himself or others is

more like a wrecking ball than a hammer.

Sometimes feelings of

anger build up without us even knowing it. Therefore, it helps to know how to

control anger. It may be helpful to think of your anger management as a traffic

represents moderate anger. Now is a good time to organize your thoughts before

trying to talk to the person with

whom you are angry. Sharing your problem with others and seeking advice may

also be helpful. Next, try to figure out the needs of the person(s) with whom

you are angry. Why did they act that way toward you? Do they have certain needs

that you were not aware of at the time? In addition to their needs, what are

yours? Knowing your needs and those of the other person(s) involved is helpful

in understanding the source of your anger. In organizing your thoughts,

remember the ABCs of communication:

mso-color-alt:windowtext">

font-weight:bold">ASK yourself three simple

questions:

mso-list:l3 level1 lfo6;tab-stops:list .5in">What

am I feeling?

do I feel this way?

is the source of my anger?

mso-color-alt:windowtext">

Writing about your

feelings is a good outlet.

font-weight:bold">BEFORE talking to the person(s)

with whom you are angry, think of some ways to prevent the anger-producing

situation in the future:

how you felt during the situation.

mso-color-alt:windowtext">

mso-list:l4 level1 lfo7;tab-stops:list .5in">Put

yourself in the other person's shoes and try to understand why he or she

acted that way.

mso-list:l4 level1 lfo7;tab-stops:list .5in">What

would you have done in their position?

color:navy;mso-color-alt:windowtext">

font-weight:bold">COMMUNICATE your

feelings in a positive manner…Swami says, Drink a cold glass of water and cool

down, or stare at your face in the mirror “

Man’s anger does not bring about

the righteous life that Swami desires for us!

I offer my humble pranaams at the lotus

feet of the beloved Lord Sai.
