KRSIHNA – a true story this Thursday

When the kids were young, my husband was always interested to know

their destiny; he would jump on every available occasion, to ask

this pundit or that astrologer what the stars had in reserve for the

four young teenagers.

Once, such an opportunity cropped up. I was busy cooking the evening

meal when I received a call from my husband asking me to hurriedly

bring all the kids to Beau Bassin, a Municipal town about 20

kilometres from where we lived in Floreal. As usual I was dressed in

black jeans, a black cotton shirt and black leather jacket. I also

was wearing my cherished black Bally leather boots which I had

bought in London.

We reached the place without any difficulty. My husband came to meet

us on the road as I parked the car .He excitedly told me that a

renowned astrologer had arrived from India and he was willing to

tell the fortunes of the boys. My husband was visibly excited as the

man had told him many truths about his past and present life with a

bonus of good futuristic predictions. I went inside the house where

the astrologer was living and waiting for us. As soon as I had

crossed the main door, I saw him and I did not like him. I sat down

sulkily.

"Well, you have got five sons?" he addressed my husband "And no

daughter?"

"This is my wife!" my husband baffled, pointing to me

I was not pleased at all at the disagreeable remark of the man and I

looked at him fiercely.

"I am sorry, Madam, I mistook you for a man"

He added to explain his bloomer "You are Krishna!"

As we all stared at each other peevishly, he thought of giving us

more explanations

"Krishna, the Avatara, was neither man nor woman"

"What was He then?" I asked simultaneously with Yogen, my eldest son

"He was God!" was the silly but prompt reply.

No, I swear, I am not gay!

Not until I had a Holy Vision of Baba in Brindavan, did I realise

what the astrologer had meant. When God looks at you and you look at

Him and your eyes meet, GOD and you become ONE
