Guest guest
Hello to my e-Satsang :-) What is it that strikes first in your mind when you see a DOG? Well, today morning I was walking back to my home from my friend's house. My pastime while walking is to say the words, "Sathya", "Sai", "Rama" with every step I take. It's a silly game, but I like it...I start the word "Sathya" with left leg taking the step and in the next turn, the word will come to the right leg (since the total number of words are three and it is an odd number). Thus it keeps alternating...:-) I have almost reached my house and suddenly a fiery dog jumped on to me from nowhere! It was so scary as it jumped on me so unexpectedly. I stepped back, but it was trying to bite my leg! As it was playing around to catch my leg with its sharp and shining teeth, all kinds of thoughts were running in my mind. Firstly, I got really angry over the owner of the dog. How on earth, could he leave his dog unchained and un-attended, when it is not well-behaved? So careless? If it bites me, I might have to be on bed for one full week or more! And seeing its sharp teeth has scared me to death really! Forget about thinking of Swami, I was not able to maintain the minimum composure at that moment! Am I the same guy who once sat in a flight which had a problem in landing, with fuel running out, but kept chanting Swami's Name with a cheerful countenance? (No need to tell you that the plane landed safely. How could Swami ever not respond when His Name is called?). But this dog is too ghastly challenge for me....its teeth are really sharp....huh.....!!! But....amidst all those gushing emotions of anger, frustration and fear, Swami has flashed a smart idea in my mind. I was reminded of how Swami once walked beside lions and tigers in a forest and they all sat looking at Swami peacefully! When the devotees who were watching that were struck with wonderement, He answered, "I see Myself in them and they acknowledge My Love." :-) I just looked into the eyes of the dog and said, "Swami! Aren't You in this dog? If so, why would she harm me at all?" And that's it. It stood still and stopped barking! I slowly walked away in wonder! Oh Dog! Sorry...Oh God! You are everywhere. In everyone. When I stepped into my apartment, I was filled with mystic bliss. When we see God in everyone and call for Him in them, however bad they are, the Swami in them will surely acknowledge our Love and respond. This incident was a shockingly sweet experience to me. Truly speaking, in this world, I have neither freinds, nor enemies. Neither relatives, nor strangers...All are Swami. Animals or plants, living or non-living, they are Swami's Forms. Ghastly or scary, Lovable or despicable, sweet or sour, everything is Swami. And I strongly felt that, if I could get myself confirmed in this feeling, Swami will surely help me by acknowledging me in all ways! I wondered, "Wouldn't life be a totally different and a Divinely blissful experince, if I consciously start seeing Swami in everyone? Surely, there would be lot of miracles, more miracles of Love happening in my life...." If one sees Him in everyone, a mother will not have attachement towards her son, a husband will not have lust over his wife, an employee will not hate his boss, a boss will not look down on his employee. I sometimes think, that in this world of so many names and forms, in fact, for each one of us, there are only two characters in our own drama of life. Oneself and Swami. But ofcourse, Swami in multifarious forms. I felt so lucky today for receiving this lesson from Swami and thought of sharing it with everyone. What is it that strikes first in your mind when you see a DOG? It's the most beautiful palindrome in English langauge, isn't it? :-) JAI SAIRAM (Just in case, you didn't come across the term 'palindrome', it is a word which means the same even when you reverse the letters in it). Guest guest
Hello, Very happy to read this funny but truely believable episode. You have narrated in a very lucid way. One can feel that emotions as if happening to oneself while reading it.Thanks for sharing your experience. I feel myself lucky enough that I relish each element in Nature i.e. the sky, the clouds, the rainbow pattern shows up in our garden when sprinklers are ON in the evening time, Stones, mountains, springs, rivers, falls, plants, each and every pattern in leaves and flowers and of course various typical characteristics in people around me! I can not stop myself expressing awesome feeling towards SaiBABA's creations! I had two cats and I was amazed to see how they were communicating with me! and my family members also noticed that they were following me everywhere to the point of jealosy to my family members! My son would say,"mummy, what's wrong with these cats? They are happily sitting with us and enjoying our company but as soon as you get up to do some errand they will start walking behind you but if any of us (my husband and two sons) get up to move out from this room, these cats don't care at all, even to notice who is going out of the room! I had noticed one of my cat enjoying music especially our Indian classical music. We tested this reading several times. Once we were playing a classical music cd which played for atleast one and half hour, the cat happily peacfully laid down on the floor with her eyes closed and we even noticed her mustaches tweeched on particular notes! I am happy that BABA has granted me that type of element to enjoy BABA's presence everywhere. Thanks again. Guest guest
Thank you for sharing this experiment with us!!! Really I have already noticed that Swami makes magic when we decide (like Jesus said) to be innocent like the children. He talkes to us in the most different ways through signs. And these signs can be any situation, words from a book, words from a friend or an unknown one, dreams, insights... The sweetness of the moonlight... His smile, either in the stars or in the children´ s eyes... oh... My Beloved One !!! Swami is irresistible =) Meera, my dear, your kitty is very cute =D (here it goes attached the Jyothi meditation in pdf file http://www.saibaba.ws/teachings/jyotimeditation.htm) Divine Love Jai Sai Ram ! Guest guest
Dera sister Meera, nice experiencing a cat. As one devotee rightly mentioned the dog and God are same if read in reverse. In fact, Lord appeared to Kabir in the form of dog. As swamy said, if we have the ear to listen and heart to feel, we can lsiten to even the stones (Govardhana giri)and clothes(sarees in Dharmakshetra). I had one experience with a cat. When I first went to Bahrain, I did not know any body nd reached a sai center for meditation at 4 AM instead of 5 AM. As I knew no body, I waited outside the apartment as I did not wnat to disturb th einmates of the house. From nowhere a cat came and sat just oppossite(whioch is not normal) as the time was odd and cat was also not sare ofme. The cat sat there giing me compnay for the whole one hour and left as soon as the door was open . I do nto have nay doubt in my mind if Swamy sent the cat or He has come in that form. just to remind what swamy told Blitz editor The previous Avatar, Shirdi Baba, laid the base for secular integration and gave mankind the message [that] duty is work. The mission of the present Avatar is to make everybody realize that the same God or divinity resides in everyone. People should respect, love and help each other irrespective of color or creed. Thus all work can become a way of worship. Finally, Prema Sai, the third Avatar will promote the evangel news that not only does God reside in everybody, but everybody is God. - BABA in interview to Blitz magazine in 19978 sairam.
