I have to share similar incident!

I purchased HP printer which had a store rebate to be

received once we submit the UPC code etc to rebate

center. This process usually takes 6-8 weeks. I was

checking ONLINE rebate link to find the status of my

rebate. I had received e-mail also that my rebate was

valid and soon the rebate check will be released.

Eventhough another 3-4 weeks passed by but the

check did not come to my mailbox!

I checked with store manager regarding this. He

gave me another rebate center number to call. I was

given another number to call as the person whom I talk

to could not locate the reference number.

The person on the second number also did not help

me saying he does not have my number on his database.

I went to store manager again with the e-mail

showing my check is going to be mailed to me but have

not received and the documentation of calling of all

the numbers that were given to me which showed that

there was some problem. The store manager was nice to

me and credited the rebate amount on my credit card

verifying my purcahse information etc.

 

Now the very next day I received the check by

mail too! I called the store manager again and he

requested me to bring the check to him so he can

update his records.

I could not go to the store due to some situation

at home. Next day I went to that store and asked for

that particular manager.

The customer service person paged the manager 2-3

times at the interval of 5-10 minutes. I had to buy

ink cartridges too! So I thought of getting those

cartridges by the time manager shows up at desk.

I was searching for specific ink cartridges but I

could not locate somehow. One lady came to me and

asked if I need help. I told her about the cartridges

that I was looking for. She helped me finding those

and than asked, if I would like to by some papers too!

I politely said No, thanks. But I did ask her about

the rebate issue as I was waiting for the manager and

he has not been able to come to desk and I was waiting

since long for him. I told her how I had already

received the rebate amount that was credited to my

account and I received the rebate check later on, so I

want to give it back. The lady appreciated my honesty

and asked me to use it towards buying these cartridges

and again she suggested me to buy papers! I willingly

agreed to buy papers as she had already saved me some

money!

Not only that but I had taken empty ink cartridge

with me to get exact numbered cartridge. It fetched me

another $ 3/- as there was some scheme to get cash

back on empty ink crtridge return.

We are small people with small needs. Baba

grantings such small but precious blessings is a great

thing for me.
