AIMS OF THE FREE WALK-IN HEALTH AWARENESS CLINIC: What we provide Health Awareness/Education by discussing with an individual any concerns regarding medical conditions he/she might currently be suffering or might have suffered in the past; Raise an awareness of common medical conditions which may not have been detected thus far; Screen and detect any abnormalities within our means; Offer the best CARE, ATTENTION and REASSURANCE to the patients in regard to condition(s) for which a consultation has been sought by them; Alley fears and provide further information or explanations as well as provide assurances if required by them on a medical condition which one might be suffering or might have suffered in the past. What do not provide § laboratory investigation or § drug treatment for conditions or § issue prescriptions for glasses or § dispense medication It is most likely that the patients attending these clinics regularly attend their own General Medical practitioners (GP) and/or are under the regular supervision of a NHS Consultant. They may however still have unanswered questions relating to medical condition(s) which they would like to discuss with you in order to have a better understanding and alley fears or remove misconceptions about such conditions. Referrals to General Practitioners: All patients should be ‘referred’ where necessary to their General Practitioners for further investigations, tests or treatments. Bone Marrow Donation We will be raising awareness for Bone Marrow Donation collecting blood samples from Healthy Donors aged 18-40 weighing at least 7.7 stones for Anthony Nolan Trust. Blood Donation The clinic is supported by National Blood Service who will be displaying a stand. Volunteers will take potential donors to the National Blood Service Static Clinic nearby.
