Cricketers and politicians attend Sai baba birthday celebrations

Prominent politicians and cricket celebrities today attended the 80th birthday

celebrations of Sri Satya Sai Baba and sought his blessings, at Puttaparthy in

Anantapur district here.

Veteran cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, star batsman Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvaraj Singh

and VVS Laxman attended the birthday celebrations and sought his blessings.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Sachin who stood before Saibaba said ''I feel proud to

be here and we all wish baba stay with us forever''.

 

State Governor Sushil Kumar Shinde, Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao

Deshmukh, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President and former Chief Minister N

Chandrababu Naidu also sought the Baba's blessings.

 

Amidst tight security, the birthday celebrations began at 0800 hrs this morning

on a grand scale. Indian and foreign devotees participated in large numbers.
