Guest guest
Collector, Smt. Y.V. Anuradha. Eighth World Conference 21st November 2005, 9:00 a.m. IST Reporting from Prasanthi Nilayam International Choir - 20th November 2005 (Evening) You would have already read from our earlier update about the inauguration of World Conference of Sathya Sai Organisations. Plenary sessions of the Conference were held in Sai Kulwant Hall in the afternoon for Indian delegates and on a special Pandal erected near the North Blocks for overseas delegates. In the evening, Bhagawan arrived in Sai Kulwant Hall for Darshan at 4.00. Sai Kulwant Hall was filled to its brim and one could see people craning their necks to have a glimpse of the Lord. The centre of the Hall was occupied by members of the Sai International Choir waiting for the signal from Bhagawan to start their programme. 175 members from 45 countries had put in unstinted efforts for the last few days to make this programme a grand success. One could see their members practicing in small groups at different points in the Ashram. As soon as Bhagawan sat on the dais, He indicated for the programme to begin. The musical feast was set off with a vibrant song to mark the joy of celebrating Bhagawan's birthday. The 175 member strong choir consisting of singers and instrumentalists produced such wonderful synthesis of musical notes in perfect harmony resulting in soothing symphony that the Hall resonated with mellifluous music. It seemed to touch the chords of everyone's heart. The veritable musical treat ended with a song of gratitude to Bhagawan for this great opportunity. The huge concourse of devotees gave a thunderous applause for treating them to a wonderful display of music. Bhagawan was so impressed with their performance that He asked them to continue even after they had sung their planned 10 numbers. The choir sang two more songs after which Bhagawan went inside the Bhajan Hall and sat for Bhajans till 5.35 p.m. The day's proceedings concluded with Arati to Bhagawan.
