Sai Ram Brother Ravi

I was there in Puttaparthi last year October and had same problem.

There is a Indian Airline office in the ashram and so I saw them.

Flights to Mumbai were stopped for some time now may be due to may be empty

flights.

Best I will suggest is take a taxi from Puttaparthi about RS1500 and they

will take you direct to Bangalore airport in a less then 3 hrs if rioad

condition is good.

It will cost you much less if you share the taxi.

Flights to Mumbai from Bangalore is no problem so just got to make a confirm

booking at the ashram office and wok it out from there.

This is what i did.

Flights from Puttarparthi airport operates to Bangalore but only some days

and certain time , may not suit you incase of your plans.

However Swami will take care of all once you are there.

As on date there are no direct flights from Mumbai to Puttaparthi. There are only

Bangalore / Parthi flights. Usually Indain Airlines starts special flights

around November before Birthday and carries on till Shivrathri, The Schedule

this year is still not announced. You would have to keep track with Indian

Airlines.

SAI RAM !!!

Please note that until now, the only Indian Airlines was flying in and out

of Puttparthi (earlier to Mumbai and later to Bangalore). However, As of

today September 29, 2005, Indian Airline's entire schedule does not show any

flights in and out of Puttparthi as far out as December of this year. One

may need to plan their travel based on this caution.

Sai Ram,

The easiest way to reach Puttaparthi from Mumbai

is to travel by Air to Banagalore ex Mumbai, hire or

share a taxi to go to Puttaparthi which will cost

around Rs. 1600/- or so. If one hs time he can as well

prefer to travel by a Super Fast Express train ex

Mumbai to Bangalore or to Prasanthi Nilayam Rly stn

direct to avoid driving by road ex Bangalore, a three

hrs drive. Jai sai Ram,

Sairam:

There are a few trains from Mumbai going Southwards, via, Dharmavaram, from

where it takes an hour's journey to Puttparthy, by a bus or taxi.

But there is one train Udyan Express [from Mumbai CST to Bangalore] which goes

through Puttaparthi itself i.e. Prashanthi Railway Station, as it is officially

called. This Udyan Express starts from Mumbai CST at 8 in the morning

[everyday] and reaches Puttaparthi at 4 am next morning.

The same train Udyan Express, coming from Bangalore to Mumbai also operates via Puttaparthi.

You may board this return train at 11 in the night [it is daily train] which

would reach Mumbai at 8.30 pm the next day night.

So in case you feel that you wont afford to spend more days at Puttaparthi, by

taking this Udyan Express, you may reach Puttaparthy in the morning, and may

plan to take the return train, the same night, after having two darshans of

Swami.

As for the fares, the to and fro fare by sleeper class [second class] would come

around 800 rupees per head.

The other trains operating through Dharmavaram might cost some 50 to 100 rupees

less. The bus fare from Dharmavaram to Puttparthi is around Rs.25/-. If you

take a taxi or some private conveyance it would cost around Rs.300 to 350. The

distance between Dharmavaram and Puttaparthy is around 35 km.

hope these details would meet your requirement.
