In service of Sai Sathyam Choudhuri Sathya Sai Baba Centers of Northern California & Nevada MESSAGE FROM MICHAEL GOLDSTEIN Thursday, September 22, 2005 8:51 AM Hurricane Relief Efforts Michael Goldstein, Chairman, Prasanthi CouncilDear Brothers and Sisters,Sai Ram!As Sai devotees, we long to be and see what is real. We long to be embodiments of selfless love and see Divinity reflected in the eyes of our brothers and sisters. Selfless service to those in need accelerates our spiritual journey. One responsibility of the Sai Organization is to provide Sai devotees with opportunities to be of service to their fellow human beings and thereby come to realize their oneness with them and their own innate Divinity. When there are natural disasters in our immediate environment, the task is defined and cries out for response. Such is the catastrophic impact of Hurricane Katrina in the Southern USA and the imminent threat of Hurricane Rita. Many of our Sai Brothers and Sisters in the affected areas have already begun to render assistance. The USA Sai Organization, under the leadership of the President of the Central Council, Phil Gosselin, The Central Coordinator, Vijay Desai, and the Zone Chairman, David Gries, have surveyed our resources and the opportunities where we might be of service. They have constituted a committee consisting of devotees in the regions within and surrounding the stricken area. The committee will coordinate the efforts of those who are willing and able to serve. In addition to dedicated Sai devotee workers, it will be necessary to purchase goods and materials to distribute to the needy people whose lives have been uprooted by this unprecedented disaster. A fund has been established under the supervision of the Central Council President, Central Coordinator, and Zone Chairman named above. Those devotees who wish to contribute may do so. The information is given below.Checks may be made out to “Whitefield Inc. – Hurricane Relief”. Whitefield Inc. is a not-for-profit 501©3 organization.
