Need advice/suggestions

Dear brothers and sisters,

 

I have a question that has been on my mind and I have been looking for answers

for the same in various ways.

 

I presume we all believe that we are here on this planet and have take this

birth for a purpose rather a very specific purpose. If we fail to

realise/understand the same we will be born again and again till we realise and

learn and fulfil what we have come here for.

 

Now that I have said that and we all agree and we are on the same page........

the question on my mind is how do i get to know what is the purpose that I have

come here for, what is that specific purpose that I need to do, who can tell me,

whom do i ask, how do i find out.

 

People say service but we all do service in some form or the other some do more

some do less but we all do it. It is a very general term and not specific.

Prayers, we all do that too.

 

Can someone enlighten me on the above. It would help me and all of us a great deal.

Sai Ram,

All humans keep coming back to pay back the

karma that was not paid in the last incarnation.This the natrual way

of progression back home to the Divine.All humans will one day be re-

united with god.

Planet earth is a school for all souls.You are

here for spiritual unfolding.Everyone will make mistakes but you

must not be discouraged.You must have faith in Sai Baba.Work with

an open heart and keep asking Baba for guidance.Try to be wise

enough to know that you do not know.Then the divine can lead you to

true knowledge,calmly,stage by stage.Give your mind without fear and

it will be expanded.

Just as I finished reading your email, I went back to the

translation I am working on for the Organization.... and guess

what ? The next sentence I read was this one...

 

"...At the same time, we should never lose sight of the fact that

our ultimate goal is to realize and experience our Oneness with God

and all Creation... "

 

I immediately thought of your email... and there it is.

For finding the answer to your question, we must go deeply into

Swami teachings. First of all, we also are God. HE is insight us and

the answers are for instance, within us. Actually, I feel that you

already knows it. Is not our goal to end the illution of separation?

Sai Ram,

With my little knowledge I will make an attempt to

explain. Senior devotees please pardon me and correct

me if I am wrong. In nutshell the objective is to know

"Who Am I".

Because we have forgotten who we are and immersed in

material world. Each individual has to undertake this

exercise, when I don't know? The principle of

Nayti-nayati (not this and not this).

 

Easiest way is to surrender to the Lotus Feet and pray

to Swami he alone will give you the answer.Swami says

start seeing reflection of Swami in every being,

perform seva, develop sambhava (equanimity), cut the I

(ego) and rest everything follows.

Baba asked a devotee to make a deep study on Karma, Manas and

Dharma. He took 20 years to plough through and get a roungh idea.

Then recently under Baba grace he went to A.R.E., in Virgenia beach

( late Edgar Caycee )

 

On a conducted tour this devotee meditated on Edgar and asked which

amongst the hundreds of volumes of material

will reflect Baba's innermost teachings to him !

 

After standing fr some time he felt to reach for a book, and there

it was, showing how close Edgar or his guide is to nthe source of al

knowledge.

Sai Ram Saimohan,

 

The question of Re-Birth is shining in front of us.

 

In the Gita, Bhagwan Krishna has explained that, the time of death

are the Divine Indicators to Re-Birth. Bhagwan Krishna explains

further - that those who leave the body when the SUN is in the

Northward motion will not (not) have re-birth and those who leave

the body when the sun is in the southward motion will have rebirth.

In the Geeta Vahini Swami has explained this further with

ellaboration -going to the fineness of the phase of the moon. The

bright half - when from the new moon the moon grown to a Full Moon

and the dark half when the moon recedes to a dark night. Spirits

that depart Bhuloka - Earth - in the bright half - no rebirth and

for those who depart in the dark half there is rebirth. So it goes

further - in the Brahammahurta ( the twilight hour in the morning)

and during the day - no rebirth - in the night - rebirth.

 

On reading this I explored a few families that I know of and found

in my family - my mother was the only one who passed on in Mayin the

afternoon - some 10 years ago. This was the time when the Sun was in

the northward motion. All others - uncles and aunts have passed on

during the southward motion of the sun. So now I have sought

assistance from a Brother-in-law in a big hospital to gather data

for what is the number of patients passing on in Northward period

and number passing on in southward period of the Sun. Figures, as

usual, should be revealing.

 

Since reading this fact in Geeta Vahini and Gita I have been

recalling some sterling qualities in my mother. She was educated

only till class 7. She would do her daily puja. In the afternoons

she would do recitation from the holy book and never waste time in

woman gossip. Never did any visitor to our house, whosoever the

person may be, went without food or tea and snacks. She would tell

my father that she did not need a saree to replace her worn-out one,

but to send a suit to my elder sister as it was her age to enjoy

these things. My father was on officer in the Army and my mother was

from a village background, but a very rich family of olden times. I

still recall - when my mother went for first time to USA, with my

Dad, on return she was looking very fat. We all teased her that my

elder brother looked after her well that she has put on weight. She

very humbly said - I am wearing three saris - I was afraid the

custom people will not let me take anything and I should alteast

have one saree for my daugher and one for my daughter in law - which

will be my wife.

 

So - the moral of the story - actions speak the truth - actions

descide your coming or not coming back. We all do service - when we

are in the service-mode, what about other times when you are not in

service-mode. The point is not 'more' - but it is 'ever ready' to be

of service - be on the lookout for opportunities. Then is the

attitude to service mechanical or do you see a glimpse of your

Beloved Swami in that homeless person or beggar.

 

"Love All Serve All" is STILL the direct royal way to merge in the

Lotus Feet of Baba.

Essence of all vedas and the 38-40 volumes of all the discourses

that Swami had given, is only to reiterate that the sole purpose of

HUMAN LIfe is to realize that vedica statement

" AHAM BRAHMAASMI", "TAT TWAM ASI", " AYAM ATMAN BRAHMAN", " SARWAM

KHALUVIDAM BRAHMAN".

The highest truth is that we are the only ones in creation with a

brain that can develop not only intellect but " BUDHI or WISDOM "

that makes us rise from the animnal in us to the divine within us.

No othe rspecies can do this thru inner and external balance and

through sense control, realize and express other than the human life.

In this journey to realize the GOD within thru accumulated good

KARMA you will encounter the jumps and bumps in life . Thru

undeterred faith in the existence of the ever pervasive divinity or

the lord and developing the equanimity of mind, you will realize the

true nature.

The goal of all life is to realize this truth..
