Guest guest
EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON Sometimes people come into our lives and we know right away that they were meant to be there...to serve some sort of purpose. Maybe to teach us a lesson or help figure out who we are or who we want to become. We never know who these people may be but we instantly know at that very moment that they will affect our life in some profound way. And sometimes things happen to us at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection we realise that without overcoming those obstacles we would never realise our potential, strength, will power or heart. Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of luck. Illness, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test limits of our soul.Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless. Each and every person we meet affects our life. The successes and downfalls that we experience can create whom we are, and the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts us, betrays us or breaks our heart, forgive them because they have helped us to learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom we open our hearts. However, if someone loves us, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love us, but also because they are teaching us to love and to open our heart and eyes to the little things. Make every day count. Appreciate everything that we possibly can, for we may never experience it again. Talk to people we have never talked to before, and actually listen. Tell ourselves that we are a great individual and believe in ourself, for if we don't believe in our own self, no one else will believe in us. We need to 'create' our own life and then go out and live it. "If you take your eyes off your goals, all you see is obstacles." Remain Blessed! Because I am in bed with an infection, my son brought me copies of all the emails. This one & your previous email on 'tears' have touched me & my wife so much I am dictating this to my son Ravi sso they he can send it immediately. It is not usual for me to be emotional byt truly there are tears in my eyes as I am saying this. I feel as if your words are hitting my soul somewhere deep inside and I really need to pray & meditate to Swami to guide me. May Swami bless you & your family & give you all happiness in the world. brother P Reddy ---------- natasha melwani natasha_melwani Re: [saibabanews] Everything happens for a reason (inspirational) saibabanews Such a thought provoking email from Madhvi Sai. Yes, it is true - everything happens for a reason. I have also read so many times that there is no 'coincidence' in life. However, the hardest experience is to practice 'forgiveness' when faced with betrayal and break of trust. We do need to be sure about whom we open our hearts with. In fact in my personal experience many 'good' and so called 'spiritual' people are double faced too. How does one protect one self in this case? I am relatively new to this group so please forgive me if I am being too vocal, I just wish to understand. Thanking you. Guest guest
Please do not worry about expresiing your thoughts dear as because that is the only way we can learn. You made interesting points: 1. 'Double faced' people. Sister we will meet all kinds of people in every wlk of like including these. Yes it is sad to find them in the 'spiritual' fold as you said but remember every one is on a journey however fast or slow we walk. Best to just accept and not judge or feel bad. 2. ' Forgiveness' is a very big one. We will always come across people who may appear friendly to begin with and then 'betray' us. Againn a lot of this is to do with our expectations & perceptions. And there are a lot of instructions from Swami esp in the Vahini series; and by others on how to deal with this. It helps not to have preconceived ideas and always try to picture Swami in them when you are trying to 'forgive' them. Its only we who can change our attitude and stop reacting to others behaviour. Next time when you are going through this process, just pray to Swami & tell Him to take over & guide you. I hope my humble input helps you a little Natasha. Maybe others in the forum like Meenaji, Madhviji, Rameshji, Papuji etc can also share their views on this. Aum Sairam. Guest guest
Sairam Sisters, You may also wish to read articles on 'letting go' 'forgiveness'etc at the following site which are very helpful. In fact we have used them in our study circle topics. http://www.madhvisai.com/articles.htm Bro Selva (Zambia)
