Guest guest
I am knew this Saibabanews Group Site. This Saikrishna from Detroit, Michigan. I would like express few things here. I read so many messages and it was quite intersting for sharing swamy's messages and his divine miracles. However I did not see much about Service Activities that has done by our devotees in this website. This is from Mr.Anil Kumar's SAI Pearls of Wisdom on Sept 28th,2002. “Everyone Should Do Seva Wholeheartedly” Then Bhagavan asked one boy to speak. You might have heard him. You might have seen the boy standing there talking to the other boys. I'm talking about the 28th of September -- the details of that boy’s speech. He spoke on seva. He said that everybody should do seva wholeheartedly. And then he quoted Swami’s poem where this is mentioned: “More than all worship, meditation or pilgrimages, service is most important.” And then he mentioned a few of his experiences: Some time ago, Swami used to serve food to all the poor people. This is called Narayana Seva. It seems one time when Swami had started serving food, He stopped at one spot, noticing a lady who was carrying a little, small child in her arms. Swami stopped there and called to one Seva Dal boy. “We are serving food to these people; how about that child?” That Seva Dal had no reply. “Swami, what should I do?” “Bring a glass of milk for this child.” So the Seva Dal boy went all the way to bring one tumbler of milk. Swami went on moving around the lines, serving food. From a long distance, He stopped and shouted, “Did you give milk to that child?” That boy said, “Yes, Swami.” Swami said, “Nothing doing!” Swami went all the way back to that lady and touched the glass. “It is very, very hot. How do you expect the child to drink the milk? No, bring another glass.” He started cooling the milk -- pouring it this way and that, pouring it from one glass into the other. He made it cool and offered the milk to the child and only then left. This shows the personal care He takes and the sprit that He wants us to maintain while doing seva. Seva or service is not a routine; it is not mechanical, no! It is not a schedule. We have to do it wholeheartedly. Guest guest
All the brothers and sisters on this site are doing their individual seva and group seva. Lifting one's spirit through this web site is also considered a seva by the people participating in this group. We recently launched the Sai Global Prayer group for universal peace and prosperity and also at the same time praying for the individuals requesting a prayer for their near and dear. We are also trying to launch a Universal Peace March day that can take place globally at least once a year. Then again we talked about the SEVA we can do by getting together globally and the discussion was truncated on concerns on funds issues. The discussion then stopped at doing Individual Seva. I am sorry that you missed participating in this discussion. In his service wiht love Meena ChintapalliSai K <sainivas009 > wrote: Sairam All, I am knew this Saibabanews Group Site. Guest guest
Sai Ram Brother, You are right in stating that we, the group members do not talk about our 'seva' activities but this does not mean that we do not do or abstain from doing 'seva' and even more so 'wholeheartedly' -it is not the quantity of the 'seva' that counts but the quality. As Swami pointed out to the kid - one should not offer a glass of hot milk to a child because the child also runs the risk of burning himself. Service must also be conscious acts of doing good and not merely automatic acts to parade one's devotion. In this context and since you have brought up the subject, I want to share this with you. I was born and bred in a third world country which years later became a developing country. This to tell you that I have seen poverty. At a time when my country was receiving grants ,aids and other subsidies from rich countries, I visited the United States of America as a diplomat and an adoption expert. When I was in San Fransisco, I phoned the Sai Baba Centre of San Francisco in Van Ness and asked whether I could pay a visit to the centre. I was asked to join in 'Narayan Seva' if I wished. I did. It was on a Sunday morning , I went with my American Sai Brothers and Sisters to feed the hungry, the poor and the homeless at the Market place. It was the will of Bhagawan Baba. Baba says :" The best type of love is feeding the hungry. It is not charity that you do, you are only offering the food to these Gods in human form." at the lotus feet of SAI, anita >Sai K <sainivas009 >[saibabanews] Sai Service >Mon, 29 Aug 2005 13:53:14 -0700 (PDT) > >Sairam All, > >I am knew this Saibabanews Group Site. Guest guest
Sai Ram, dear Brother Welcome to you... We do not not talk about our respective "Seva" on this forum, unless a very specific question arises because we all participate collectively and/or individually to what is best suited with our capacities and the necessities of the moment... As far as I am concerned, I translate Swami's discourses and literature about Him into French for the Organization here in my country... and I am immensely grateful for this. Every time there has been a special need in whatever field, it has been freely and thoroughly discussed here and attended. Was there anything in particular you wanted to know by raising the topic ? May Our Lord inspire and bless us all, at all times... Aum Sai Ram Nelly
Guest guest
Iam new to this kind of "spiritual experience". I believe in Sri Satya Sai Baba's powers, but .....Iam yet to experience His Divinity and Miraculous powers . Iam a young student in search of livelihood and struggling to get into Good Service. The only thing which hapenned to me (regarding Sai ng Bhagavan), is that I came to know about Him through a "Teacher" of mine, who is a LadyDoctor. with Sai Pranaams, Faithfully yours, Rajendra. Guest guest
Sai Ram Brother Rajendra It is so easy to get entangled in wishes for miracles and miss the point of what Sri Sathya Sai Baba is trying to get through to us - observe simple human values and become better human beings. Try and absorb his teachings and learn more about what he has said and written and you will find bliss in a new perspective to life and start to see God's Grace in every occurrence, large or small, around you. The miracles and shows of his powers are what he calls his 'calling cards' - which impress people enough for them to sit up and take notice of what they need to learn and weave into their lives. I'll give you a simple example of his Grace - and how he looks after those who believe in him. Last Thursday a brother from Bangalore who had stopped in transit in London on his return trip from The US took the trouble to ring around to fullfil his need to attend bhajans on a Thursday (Sai Baba's Day) and found he could attend our Sai Centre in Wembley that evening. He duly arrived and, in a short chat before the bhajans, agreed that he would address us and tell us something about himself and what brought him to Swami (Sai Baba). In a totally unprepared move, he was asked to sit in pooja during our chanting of Swami's 108 Names. As he sat down to do the ritual offering of flower petals at Swami's feet, I thought he made a face and was wondering what happened there. All was revealed when he spoke to us after the bhajans. He said his daily prayer ritual included reciting the 108 Names and offering flower petals at Swami's feet. He said he felt doubly blessed that day as, not only had he found his Thursday bhajans but also felt Swami's benevolence as he had felt very frustrated that day due to not having had the time or facilities in his hotel room to carry out his daily pooja. He then found his prayers were answered without any prompting on his part! You can dismiss this as a coincidence but to that brother it was a 'miracle' and 'proof of powers' that you mentioned in your message! Brother Murli from Bangalore, perhaps if you see this you will write in to add your version of events. Jai Sai Ram!
Guest guest
Sai Ram When you plant a tree - you have to protect in the initial years from predators. Then the tree grows to experience the miracle of bearing fruits and the joy of giving shade to all even to those who cut its branches. In this process a life time may go by. You teacher did her job to plant the seed. Now you should be wary of predators and the best way to neutralise predators is by namasmaran - do it and even they will go by. Today you are a young person - as you grow up - and cross many a bridges - you will experience His Hand with your very own faculty of senses - sight smell touch etc Sai Ram - Be Happy JP ~~~~~~~~~~~N Rajendra <nrajendra_1992 (AT) (DOT) co.in> wrote: Om Sri Sai Raam, Iam new to this kind of "spiritual experience".
