Sai Ram to all you brothers and sisters,

 

first, I have to epologise because my English is a little bad but I believe you will understand me.

 

I had some strange experience today during my morning meditation.

I stand up at 7:00 a.m. and did a Group Prayer. After this I fall a sleep for a

while because I did not have to go to work; my work begin usually afternoon (I

do medicine massage). So, when I awake again I sit down in front of my altar

and began with my usually morning prayer. In a moment when I repeated Gayatri

Mantra the flame in my oil-vessel (holder) start to act wildly - it grasps

indeed all oil and whole vessel was in fire. I really went in panic because

there was many little photos and other secret things around and I do not want

to lose it in a fire. Then a little bit of flame start to sprinkle out of

vessel so the carpet that was below start to burn. I took a hot metalic vessel

with my two finger and try to take it to sink and pour with a watter. Flame

actually follow me dropping from the vessel all over ther carpet continuing to

burn on the place it fell.

In a moment the carpet was in some places cover with a flame.

I put a burning vessel successfully into a sink and run to stop a fire in the

room where was my burning altar.

After all I had extinguish the fire, but my two fingers was roasted, very hot

and red. I put a hand in cool water and coat with ice, but I dare not to draw

it out of water because the pain was so sharp that I feel how it climbs up to

my brain and tears just fall.

But the challenge was that I have a three people on massage this afternoon. How

could I do it with burned fingers?

I couldn't even clean a carrot!

 

Four hours later I know that is a time to do my job, so I squeezed my teeth,

took the ice away of my fingers and go to the people. The pain was still there

but in a moment when I was near to saloon the pain stopped and I did my massage

like I haven't any burns.

 

Isn't it a wonder?

 

(Few days before I asked Sai Baba to do some miracle for me, that He materialize

something on my altar).

 

When I returned into a room, in front of altar there was two round circle burned

on a two places like a fingerprint of my two finger.

I have to say that I put this oil-vessel on a plate among two lingas (also round

like a two fingerprint).

The story is about my thumb and index finger.

 

Please, could somebody explain me why my altar was burning during I prayed

Gayatri Mantra on this Purnima day and what it means??? Why this two fingers??

Let me tell my experiences.

 

I was into one of the companies into IT and it is not doing well. I

was praying lord venketesha with unflinching faith. My wife told me

to write to Swami, which I did and got into a very good company.

 

My salutations to Sai Narayana who is eternal and omnipresent and

hope Sai Ram will guide me coming up in life and career.

 

Lord Sai - Bless with strength and energy and I should get promoted

soon with your blessing by doing my duty with full devotion and

committment.

The thumb represents Fire or Energy

The index finger represents air or vayu

 

The mudra or positionng of Gyana mudra when you touch together

lightly the tip of the thumb to the tip of the index finger

 

gyana mudra improves the brain power, memory retention and helps in

insomnia

 

The Vayu mudra [ for joint pains like rheumatism arthritis and even

paralysis - the best results alternate with prana mudra [for immune

system very good since it activates it] touch ttogether lightly the

tips of the thumb the ring finger and the little finger.]

 

You can do the gayatri at 4am, 4pm or 8pm or 8am Tanja

These timings are important since the numbers 4 and 8 signify a

completeness and a singularity...which means that whatever you are

doing is good but does not present the complete picture...your

prayers and the dance of the flame has shown you in what way you can

improve the situation. Baba speaks and acts through every medium and

this is one of the interpretations which suggests...

 

Without destroying or extinguishing there can be no creation or

learning new ways or finding solutions...that is why fire and vayu

two primeveal elements which make life possible together with the

other elements in play

What Dear Nayanika has stated below may be correct as per the knowledge she has

been exposed to. This can be from a Yoga school of thought. But, I write to

tell you what Swami says on these points.

 

One when you use a rosary or japamala to do namasmaran - there is a special way it has to be done.

 

Swami says in your hand the THUMB is God - without the thumb your fingers are

useless. Now you index finger is 'self'. The other three fingers are the Gunas

- Sathwic Tamsic and Rajasic. Surrender at the feet of God - touch the base of

the thumb with the index finger. With the rosary resting on the Sathwic Guna

and all the three Gunas together - God will turn your rosary - the tip of the

thumb moves the beads.

 

The question here - is whether the beads are moved towards your body or away

from your body - if have no response to this in the little knowledge I have -

but, I feel when God is twirrling the beads - either way is the best way.

 

Gayatri Mantra can be chanted any time. For Sadhna it should be chanted minimum

3 times at Dawn, Noon and Dusk. Do not forget to say the Santhi path after the

chanting. In Gita Bhagwan says in "Mantras I am Gyatri" - so this Gyatri Mantra

is the Everest of all mantras. If you want I could send you a long note on

Gayatri by Baba.

 

Now, to the fire - yes fire is fire and it should be kept in control, but when a

mishap occurs - see Grace in it and not the cause in it. Cause can be anywhere -

like a needle in a haystack - but Grace is evident - your fingers got instant

cure - that is Grace - the fire did not cause much damage - that was Grace.

 

I always tell devotees - never tempt the elements with carelessness. I do not

know what you were using to light the fire - but if you are a regular

worshipper who lights a fire for worship - use pure clarified butter for

lighting the wick. The wick should be pure cotton. It should not hang out too

much and always have a non-flamable plate below the vessel or diya in which you

light fire. Take Precautions and enjoy your prayers.
