Dear Saikumar,

I have 2 questions and maybe you can answer it or

forward it to someone who has the answers.

Question 1, if swami is born in 1926 then as per the

western calendar if you subtract 1926 from 2005 then

you would end up with 79. If this is the case then why

are we celebrating swami’s 80th birthday celebrations

this year?

Question 2, there is always the question what is the

difference between the Hindi aum sign and what is the

Sanskrit aum sign. I believe there are small

differences in the way it is written but could you

please verify this for us.

Regards,

RE: [saibabanews] Question....one friend asking .........

In some traditions when the child is born it is the first birthday,

therefore it will be Sai Baba's 80th birthday. Nobody is saying Sai

Baba is 80 year old.

Dear steven,

As per Indian / Hindu tradition, the day of birth of an individual

(in

Swami's case, 1926) is counted as the 1st b'day - so when

calculating

an Indian's age often a year is added to take into account the day

of

birth as the 1st b'day.

I hope that makes sense!

Question....one friend asking .........

Sairam Bro. Steven,

This is Swami's 80th birthday celebration. That is correct as stated

by

you.

You are also correct when you subtract it is 79.

Swami will be completing 79 years of his becoming avatar on November

23 but

it will be the 80th birthday.

The first birthday is when a child is born and the 2nd birthday is

when the

child completes one year of age.

When a person is born it is a birthday and it is the 1st birthday

and when

the 2nd birthday celebrations come the age is one year.

In the same manner if you keep adding each year it is the 80th

birthday of

Baba and his age is 79 years.

I hope I have made it clear!

Personally I see no difference in OM it is one universal name of the

creation. If someone can explain I like to know.

With loving regards.

Sai Ram.

Besides what you have state as all of us know Swami

had his birth by pravesa like Krishna avatar and not

by prasava as we generally have. So His birth date

starts from the day of His Pravesa into Eswaramma's

womb. You may be aware when a Pandit asked Swami

whether His birth was by pravesa or prasava, He asked

Eswaramma to say. She said when she was drawing water

in a well a blue light came and entered her womb and

she fell unconscious. Her mil told Eswaramma not to

tell anybody otherwise the people will spread some

unnecessary rumours. So the date of Swami's birth,

26th Nov.1926 is taken as the first birthday and His

80th birthday is now on.

for the question number 1, Swami considers Intra Uterine age as a part of the

chronological age and therefore the <W3stern calculations plus the intra

uterine age makes him to be 80 years old. <this is important to remember when

we consider the fetus as an IT but the fetus is full of life. Pregnancy

terminations is like killing the future life of a being, who is a potential

Gift of GOD
