Guest guest Posted July 17, 2005 Report Share Posted July 17, 2005 Free Siddha medical camp NT Bureau Chennai, July 12: A free siddha medical camp was conducted by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Kilpauk at Sevalaya Service Centre in Thiruninravur recently. A team of Siddha doctors conducted health check ups for about 300 people. Free medicines were also distributed. Sevalaya, a registered charitable trust has its service centre at Kasuva Village near Thiruninravur, Chennai. The trust runs a free home for destitute children and senior citizens. A free higher secondary school for the residents of the children's home and poor children from nearby villages is also run by the trust. Besides, the trust also runs a free medical centre and a library, Goshala and a craft centre imparting free training in tailoring for rural women. As part of its efforts to promote Indian medicine and create awareness on alternative medical systems among villagers, Sevalaya periodically organises free Siddha medical camps for residents of Sevalaya as well as local villagers. All services of Sevalaya are rendered free of cost to the poor and the underprivileged without any discrimination, a press release here said.
