Guest guest
Ive been doing the prayer group for the past couple of weeks, but I have a small problem. I do not know the melody for the mantras: Dhavantari and the prayer for Swami's health, Sri Sathya Sai Sampooma. Ive been making up my own melody, but I'd like to do it correctly. Does anyone have a link to a website where it can be played to hear the melody or otherwise? Thanks for your help, Sai Ram Kendra "Always look at the positive side of things" Sri Sathya Sai
Guest guest
I recall Swami in a discourse say that the right pronunciation and melody are important, but, He also added, that even when the child cryies hoarsely the mother comes running - the mother does not wait for the child to cry melodously. Swami concluded this by saying - You all are the children of God. So Dear Kendra, keep doing the mantras to the best of your ability as you understand them best. Swami (our mother) is always listening. When I was a young officer in the Army, being from a religious background, it was customary, for me to offer prayers in the morining at the Altar in my home. I knew my quality was not something to be proud of, but I did it every day. One day a senior Religour Teacher from the local Gurudwara, came to my house for a visit. We (self and Mrs) and he were chatting about what prayers we do and all that. I asked him "My prayers are not in good quality - will God accept them." To this the teacher replied, "You do your duty. Take it that you have employed a servant in your home to cook your food. This servant cooks food and you have it. Sometimes the food in good and somethimes not very good. Sometimes he cooks with devotion and somethies he cooks with his mind wandering in distant lands. But, after a month when the servant comes for his wages - can you refuse him - No you will pay him the wages. So is the case with God" he said, "when you are regular in your task - he has to pay you your monthly wages." But, this was a story from long past - today I can add - do your duty to the best of your ability - without worrying for the fruit (the monthly wage). There is full certainity that the wage will be given to you, but, do not aspire for it. Isn't this the essence of selfless seva? Guest guest
I dont know about the website of the mantras as this Dhanvantari mantra was chanted at His divine(Swamis) presence when Mookambika Devi Chandi Homam was conducted. So that is how we picked it up for our Sai prayer group and also prayer of Swami(Sree Sathya Sai Sampoorna Paripoorna Arogyapraptirastu) that is also from our Sister in our Sai group who does this prayer in their prayer meetings. Now intonations and melody of this prayer it is up to you you can chant in same melody the way you chant gayatri mantra or sai gayatri or same chants of Om Sree Sai Ram.As long you feel happy and blissful while chanting these mantras that matters most ,and above all you wiil be doing with all devotees throughout the world and their vibrations will make your chants more melodoius and vibrant. I myself noticed after afffect of this prayer which is something unique- words fail to describe.
