Sai is my choice

 

The other day I was returning from Bangalore in Lal Bagh. (I was at Brindavan in

the Lord's presence on this birthday). It was general compartment and there was

no place to sit.

I stood throughout the journey though I got a few chances to 'grab' a seat if I

wanted to, and it was the best ever train journey I had.

How negligible is the happiness you get in enjoying a comfort when compared to

the bliss you obtain when you allow your fellowmen to enjoy it?

Swami knew I had little or no sleep the previous night and that I had to attend

office in second shift till 11 PM on the same day. He was constantly comforting

me with cool breezes that swept in through the windows of the train.

I looked out and the random shapes of the clouds floating appeared like outlines

of Swami's crown of hair. The thought filled me with so much joy.

I borrowed a pen and paper from someone, and found myself writing this

poem...(Jpeg file attached) A small note: I used a Telugu font which is little

confusing. You might mistake 'Pa' for 'Va' as the gap between the letter and

its 'thalakattu' in 'Pa' isn't clearly visible.

Here I translated the attached Telugu poem into English:

More than the delicious 'Palakova' that is made by boiling sugar with milk

well,What I find sweeter is the Name of 'Sai', which sends thrills of bliss

into the veins as soon as it is uttered.

More than the cool curd that is formed when fresh milk is fermented,

I love the soothing smiles showered by my Sai

More than the eulogies sung by my fellowmen, describing me as a noble soul,W

hat I deem great is one pat from my Sai acknowledging my penance of Love

More than countless riches, boundless land and unshrinking gold, what is valuable for me

is My Sai's companionship, that lets me see my 'inner beauty' and remove my ego

Didn't You save Tyagaraaja that day, and overwhelm him by granting him the kingdom of

bliss and music?Why then, O resident of Parthi - the Jagadhaanandhakaaraka, do

You hesitate to cleanse

my rusted mind today?

('Jagadhaanandhakaaraka' is one of the Pancharatna Kritis composed by Saint

Tyagaraja. The word means

'One who makes the world joyful')
