On the subject of prayer GROUPS! ...

I would like to offer the following suggestions ...

Firstly ... We have more power in our prayers as a GROUP.

But .. everyone is in different time zones ...

I suggest it would be much more advantageous if we

pick a DAY .. like Thursday ( Swami's Day ) for everyone

to focus thier efforts on.

Secondly ... If someone in this group would like to volunteer ... ( I'll be

happy to do it if no one else wishes too )

Once a week .. post on this forum .. the consolidated list

of names for those who need our urgent prayers ....

Lets try to suggest to everyone that though they can happily

write to all of us what is going on .. for the sake of the

prayer group .. all we need is .. name, place, and maybe

a short idea of thier needs.

This way with a consolidated list each week .. everyone

can print it out and offer the names in prayer on Thursdays.

Those of us who have thier own altars and pray each day ...

it would be wonderful if you could include these people daily or better yet ..

those lucky ones who have a temple near them and who go .. can take the list

and offer it to be prayed for at the temple or even just saying the names on

the temple grounds during your prayers would be excellent.

Thirdly ....

Do we have ANYONE in this group who is in Puttaparthi

regularly or who is living there but also particpating in this

group ....????

IF so .. we could really use your services in this prayer

group .. especially in taking a list to darshan and just offering the names to

Swami as he gives darshan or something like that.

Fourthly ...

I suggest that we should do this like they would do it

any temple for there is specific purpose in doing these mantras in a set order

with Om's first, then Ganesha, ect because of the energy your invoking with

them .... We should start with Om .. then Ganesha Mantra or Ganesha Gayatri ...

Then Guru Sloka ...

I have a special booklet I got in Puttaparthi of a prayer to Swami for

protection and I will try to find it and post it ...

Then of course we should include something to Devi and

the Mrutanjaya Mantra .. then Om again and the Loka Samastah Prayer for peace.

In any list we do .. we should include that other than the names .. we also

offer these prayers up for World Peace so

that everyone can be happy.

If there are any volunteers who could help with this ... maybe we could decide

on a content of our prayers .. then I would be happy to copy these individual

prayers and put the whole thing togeather as ONE tape or CD with the words to

them ....

Then I can mail everyone a CD with the set mantras and

in a set order so that we're ALL doing the same thing on thursdays .. this would

give our prayers that much more

power to them on the behalf of others and the world.

Just some thoughts ... But I definately think that this

is a wonderful idea and wonderful seva if we can all

work togeather and pull togeather on this ... :)
