Guest guest
First things First Here comes the One, who seeks from you, neither penance nor austerities, but pure Love Here comes the One, who asks of you, neither riches nor power, but a faithful surrender Here comes the One, who expects you to be, neither an Einstein nor a Mozart, but your own true Self. Neither your beauty can entice Him, nor can your scholarship enchant Him Neither your intellect can comprehend Him, nor can your acumen discern Him. Neither your wit can amuse Him, nor can your agility impress Him Emperors failed to procure Him, Sages longed to visualize Him Scientists gave up their inquiries, Philosophers left their arguments. But.... O Pardha, panic not. There is a way, He left for thou. Become His own and make Him your own. That's the best and the least you can do. *********************************************************** My dear co-travelers, I was thinking what will make me dearer to Swami? (meaning, how to accomplish the purpose of my life?) Shall I have to earn money and conduct great charity activities? Or shall I have to compose sublime music and sing His glory in eternal tunes? Or shall I have to contribute towards the progress of mankind in a science or technology? Or shall I have to give my best for attaining World Peace and prosperity? I might have accomplished all of these. But tell me, my friend, of what avail are these, when I remain separate from Him? O Pardha, learn to Love Him first and you can think of how to breathe later. For a life sans Sai's Love is worse than death. Who is world's greatest hero? Alexander or Napoleon? Gandhi or Teresa? Beethoven or Tyagaraja? Bill Gates or Stephen Hawkings? He who is Sai's best servant is.
Guest guest
Light and Love Thanks for thoughts, there are many points worth to acknowledge and follow. However, your text " Who is world's greatest hero? Alexander or Napoleon? Gandhi or Teresa? Beethoven or Tyagaraja? Bill Gates or Stephen Hawkings? He who is Sai's best servant is" shows that one who has found he/she is the best, is not free from 'ego'. It is 'ego' what longs for being better than others. When there is no 'ego' then there is no 'best'. All human beings are the 'best' by their own way, own skills. Small or tall - all are equally dear to Swami when their hearts are pure and the faith is illuminated 'through three worlds'. Is there a need to select people who is the best at all? It seems that more fruitful is to deal with training one's own possibilities and skills that better to follow Dharma. ( Many stories by Swami have sent to the group about 'ego' and also in serials 'Swami teaches...' too this topic has been represented not once).
