The secret is nice and simple. But how come we all do not realise it? I remember one story from ancient greek philosophy to answer that riddle. One great greek philospher( as they are many like Socrates and Aristotle etc) who was above 80 yrs old, walked several miles to go to a public place where he heard some body was giving away the secret of life. After reaching there, he listens to the secret, which is " To wash of yr sins, perform a lot of good actions which is the secret of life" . The old philospher gets furious and says ," I read confuscious philosophy whole my life and now at this old age daring my life walked all this distance to know the secret. I am disapointed as it is like knowing nursery rhymes". Then the wise man who shared the secrets says, " sir, every body knows the nursery Rhymes, but each generation has to learn it. But the secret is not knowing, but the secret is living it." One of the seven vasans (attachment from the previous lives) is called "Sastra vasana" which means the interest to know things. Once we get over it, we get interested into living it. As we do not need to know so much to implement nor we do not live long enough to implment what all we know. We have to start living what we know already now without delay.
