Guest guest
Sai Ram, dear Soumendra, and all the dear Sai devotees. Your question, dear Soumendra, is very much on point: How to ask Baba for permission and guidance with respect to matters where He should be consulted about, while separated by physical distance? All I can offer you is my humble approach to this. I read once, think it was in one of His discourses, that Swami said that if we needed to ask, all we had to do is find a quiet spot where we could concentrate on Him for 10 to 30 minutes and, during that time, ask whatever question we had and He would answer. The answer might come right away or in a couple of days, we might like it or not, but He would certainly answer. In my humble experience of 16 years with Swami, I've found that everything He says is true. When I've had the strength and perseverance to insist in the practice of His teachings and to act upon His advice, I've been able to realize that He is always right and truthful. Also, once I read that the best time to ask God about something is just before going to sleep. I've asked Swami a couple of things that were important to me at the end of my night prayers and He has answered me the next morning. Though I've asked Swami only about spiritual matters or about those I mentioned in my previous e-mail, my feeling is that each of us has a personal, intimate, direct relationship with Swami and should feel free to ask Him whatever he or she wants, to communicate freely with Him who is our best friend, mother, father, guru, redeemer, savior and God. Each devotee is free to do that, regardless of the physical and geographical distance. We may be limited by time and space, but Swami is not. He transcends time and space. In fact, He is the creator and master of time and space. Time is a toy in His hands! Have you noticed how sometimes Swami anticipates what you may be needing, making it happen for you, even before you yourself have had the opportunity to realize it and ask for it? Who can possibly do that, but the One, now walking this Earth as Sri Sathya Sai Baba? Something I do when taking vibhutti is placed a tiny amount behind each ear and ask Swami to make sure that I'm able to distinguish His beautiful divine voice from the ego's voice, so that I may not fall into the ego's traps. It may seem silly, but works for me. Hope and pray to Swami this may be of help to you. May Swami bless you all always, and your loved ones, with His sweetest and choicest blessings. Guest guest
I enjoyed reading your mail. I fully agree with you on how to communicate with our LORD. It is simple. Just meditate on HIM and during that time communicate mentally and he gets it. You can communicate what ever you want to. You will defenitely get the answer too. I do only that way. I very much appreciate the way you put vibhuti behind the ear and ask HIM for help regarding hearing only HIS voice and not that of ego. Each one of us have our own way of communicating with our LORD. The most important thing here is our sincerity in following HIS teachings. If we are really sincere, then follow what you want, our LORD anwers. Wiht Love, Sairam, Kumar.saiyeled284 (AT) comcast (DOT) net wrote: Sai Ram, dear Soumendra, and all the dear Sai devotees. ..... Guest guest
Sai Ram, dear brother Kumar, I agree with you one hundred percent: We all develop, under His guidance, our own way of communicating with Beloved Swami. The most important aspect, as you so well remarked, is our sincerity. When I became aware of our Swami years ago, I was an ignorant person spiritually-wise. I didn't even know what the Sacred Pranava Om was! Yet, notwithstanding my ignorance and worldly life, as absurd as it seemed to others, Swami called me. My "conversion" left many in shock. They could not understand what had happened to me. So I know for a fact that a sincere heart wins the day as far as the Lord is concerned. That, and your destiny. If you are destined to lead a spiritual life, if the time has come for you to join the ranks of the truly faithful, it will happen. You will change. When God calls, all answer. No one can resist that call. Not even ignorant and worldly me! Also, do not despair, those of you out there that may feel inadecuate for this call. If the Lord calls you, is because you are fit to respond. If you feel you lack knowledge about these things, have no fear: the Lord Himself will make sure that you are instructed in all you need to know. Dear Sai brother Kumar, I sincerely appreciate your reply. It feels good to communicate with those who follow the same path and comfort and strengthen each other in our faith by sharing our spiritual experiences and journey under the guidance of our Beloved Swami. May our Swami bless you, your loved ones, all the Sai brothers and sisters in this group, and all of us, with his sweetest and choicest blessings.
