Inspired by Swami's program 'Ceiling on Desires' contenplations

Light and Love Every human being desires to live without difficulties.

However everyone of us encounters difficulties during the whole life. Probably,

partly it is for lacks of the previous incarnations. Current lifetime is

responsible for the future. Spiritual awareness through Swami's Teaching guides

a human being towards peace in mind and inner happiness.

A. Emotional contemplation. The most important source of different

negative actions and worries are selfish desires. They caused a state of

constant dissatisfaction. In order to satisfy selfish desires, greed, envy,

human being wastes a lot of energy in search of material powers and wealth.

He/she wishes to be better than others, to be richer than others, to be luckier

than others, to be cleverer than others... Usually in this situations

truth/honesty is denied, put aside and greed, dark actions are committed

together with selfish desires... And from somewhere an inner voice, the

conscience, i.e. Swami's Cosmic Form as whispered to the greedy Mind seeking

the way to fulfill the infinite stream of worldly desires. “You are Atma,

expression of God in the holographic form...why do you bother yourself with the

desires which are evil, foolish, childish, wrong, utopian...? Why do you seek

storm, you may be lost the path to me, the Self, in the stormy sea..." The

Mind does not hear the Self seriously. He enjoys this storm of desires what

caused the longtime worry and sadness at last. The Mind is enjoying own desires

for a moment and feels flashes of happiness. And then the delusive Mind answers

to the conscience. “All is the Divine play. All in the Universe is Divine,

consequently, my worldly desires too. In this world you (the Self) and I (the

delusive Mind) are bubbles of foam in foamy ocean waves. I like to enjoy the

play of waves, it is my chance to take from this world what I like, let it be,

I shall harm the others and myself... However, the confusion and distress I

cause to you, the Self and to the others has also the Divine foundation through

glasses of Maya. You know, that Atma is only real; however, even you cannot

describe me what is Atma. You say it is Cosmic Consciousness, Swami's Cosmic

Form... but through the veil of Maya you do not know himself who you are

really, what is your foundation, my dear Self?" The Self feels sad that the

Mind has so limited awareness incapable to see beyond the material and sensual

pleasures and grid of desires. He answers: "My dear Mind, you are truly blind

to see and percept beyond the material world. Even the modern science has

verified that beyond visible world the larger, invisible world exist. Your

material world is as a top of iceberg in the ocean full of bubbles what you

like to enjoy. However, I like to enjoy the whole ocean with the entire

icebergs in it. You have no experience of the Divine bliss what shines through

the Maya veil's ‘holes’. And what is sadder that you even do not wish to

follow my advices... So it remains to me to wish you much pain and sorrow after

short flashes of worldly joy. It is the best teacher to you... full of constant

pain and sorrow you turns to me again and seek for liberation... You know, I am

always in yours services as I am your inner Truth and the reflection of

eternity. Trough me you can grow and as fuse into Atma. Thank you for your

contemplation, it is as the dark mirror of me, the worldly mutation of Atma...

Follow my advises, go with me, with your Real Self, or when you like to go with

Swami's Cosmic Form, go with Him, it is the same, but words are only different.

I shall teach you to get rid of worldly and selfish, harmful desires and then

you can experience the real joy... Believe me, I am the reflection of the unite

hologram of the whole Universe and you are a prince of the Universe without

knowing it. You search joy from worldly desires as a child who searches joy in

a tiny picture of the Sun what she has painted and does not notice the real Sun

in the sky. Swami's Teaching is ever with us and reveals us the mystery of

creation and his Divine Vibrations (Energy) make 'holes' into the veil of Maya

that humanity would have a possibility to peep through them to the Spiritual

Reality what is the basis of the material world... How poor and restricted is

this material world in comparison with the eternal Being, Atmic Reality."

 

(PS: I like to create such kind tiny emotional stories at the lectures for

specialists that the subject matter would be better remembered. These stories

are flashes of momentary inspiration).

 

The second contemplation on the same topic is without pictorial

explanations. Consider, which is more touch the heart and calls to follow?

2. Theoretical contemplation

If humans want to lead a happy, free and truthful life they will need to

have satisfaction from what they have at present and through this they find the

peace. It is essential to obtain the skill to feel happiness and

satisfaction in what one already has. This state creates less new desires, as

mind is busy with current feelings of present desires. However, new and new

possibilities create accordingly the collection of new desires and the mind as

hurries to perform the new actions in purpose to fulfill the desires. So the

mind certainly generates without control over senses wrong activity. Swami’s

program ‘Ceiling on Desires’ introduced more than 20 years ago is as a lifebelt

for everyone to contemplate on this topic. This program is difficult to put into

practice in the conditions of consumer-society without the firm spiritual

outlook. The last needs in effort. However, no effort arises without the desire

to have this effort. Effort and actions generated out of selfish desire are

two different aspects. Without effort 'born from desire' anyone cannot have

progress in life and to study even Swami's Teaching. Human being cannot

anything to perform without desire what is as activator of effort. On the

other hand, actions to fulfill all desires rising in the mind cannot to select

as unselfish and will have a tendency to deviate from the path of truth and

righteousness even being not aware of it. Righteous spiritual life-style

should derive satisfaction from what person already have. It is as inner

discipline will set in an example; there will be a ceiling on desires by

natural way initiated through spiritual outlook to the existence. Without

discipline desires will constantly grow and take control and rule. Namaste
