Brother Dev has summed up Kodai in one line below.

 

Whosoever has had the opportunity to be to Kodai remembers it for the open line

(no tokens) first come first served in the Darshan Area in Swamis Garden. The

feeling is like very informal and sort of homely.

 

I recall an incident in 1994, when i was in Kodai. It was after morning darshan,

Swami was giving interviews, the Sevadal lined up at the side of the house for

Swamis darshan as they were going back. So sensing Swami to give darshan there

- I also placed myself behind the seva dal.

 

Swami came and after a few pad namaskars He called for laddus to give to seva

dal - all hell broke loose - all Seva dal mellied around Swami to get a Laddu

from HIM. Seeing an opportunity for a laddu from the divine hands I also trust

my hand all the way from behind. Swami could see only hands around HIM thrust

from behind those in the front. Swami was giving laddus in hands of seva dal -

when He came to my hand (and He was seeing only the hand) - He hit my palm hard

with His knuckles and said NOT SEVA DAL.. No laddu, but, got HIS touch and HIS

talk.

 

Kodai cannot be forgotten.
