Guest guest Posted April 17, 2005 Report Share Posted April 17, 2005 Andhra Pradesh govt to amend Act governing Agri Market Committees : [Andhra Pradesh, India] Hyderabad, April 16 : Andhra Pradesh Cabinet today decided to amend the Act governing agricultural market committees to provide for increasing the number of members in each committee from the present 14 to 18.The amendment would also make it mandatory for the government to ensure representation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Minorities and Women in the market committees, the state Home Minister K Jana Reddy told reporters in a post-cabinet media briefing.The Cabinet also sanctioned financial subisdy to Sai Medical Institute, being run by Satya Sai Baba at Puttaparthi, to the tune of Rs 4.19 crore, the Minister said.In another decision, the Cabinet gave its nod to a proposal to permit construction of star hotels in the posh Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills areas of the city.
