Required Information about visit to Prasanthi Nilayam

Hi all,

 

I am a Software Engineer in Bangalore. Next weekend I

am planning to visit Puttaparthi. This would be my

first visit. Can anyone guide me as to how to reach

Puttaparthi from here (Bangalore), how many hours

journey it is?, and about the Accomodation, if I want

to stay overnight? Darashan of Baba?

It is about 120 miles; about three hours.

Take a taxi and accommodation is good

and readily available.

Hello Prateek,

There are heaps of buses plying between bangalore and puttaparthi

everyday. There's one every hour (KSRTC). There are trains as well

but i am not very sure about the timings. Its a 4 hour journey by

bus. You can stay in the dormitory (Rs.5 a day) or if u r not

comfortable u can take a room outside prashanthi nilayam. The rooms

outside would cost u around 150 to 200 a day. You can find some sort

of accomodation without any trouble. Just have HIS name in ur lips

all the way through and HE will take care of everything and make ur

journey very enjoyable.

Mr Prateek,

Sairam. It is about 3 - 3.5 hrs drive from Bnagalore to Puttaparthy,

if you go by car. If you wish to go by bus, you have buses from

KSRTC and APSRTC Bus stand (Kempegowda / Majestic). The timings that

I know are 5 am, 3pm and 5pm. There could be some more also. By bus,

it takes about 4 - 4.5 hrs. Same while returning. There are some

passenger and express trains also in this route. (Prashanthi exp at

2 pm, Udyan exp at 8 pm, B'lore - Guntur Passenger etc are a few)

You can visit railways' web site for more info. By express train it

is about 3 hrs journey.

 

Common halls, rooms etc are available inside the Prasanthi Nilayam

campus, which will be alloted depending on rush. Room will not be

given if you go there alone, you will have to stay in the

Hall/dormitory. Rooms are available outside the campus also.

please check whether Swami is available before you leave. It is

likely that

he may move out in summer to Kodai or Bangalore. It takes about 3

hoursto

reach Puttaparthi. Accomodation is available in the ashram and there

are

also hotels.

Dear Prateek,

 

You can catch 12.00 noon bus from KSRTC bus-stand at Majestic. It

will take 5 hours to reach at Puttaparthy. Kindly get the timing

confirmed from any KSRTC booking counter.

Once you are there, proceed to Information counter and enquire about

the accommodation facility.You can get all the information from that

office. Otherwise ask anybody. People out there are very helpful.

Basically,

you will two kinds of accommodations.

 

One is HALL accommodation. You have to stay with other people in a

large hall available inside Ashram paying Rs 5/- per night.

Otherwise, you can book one room. Generally you will have to pay Rs

100-400/- per night depending upon the condition of the room. For

this you have to stay outside Ashram.

That's all.

Sai Ram Prateek,

 

Pl. check out where Baba is before leaving. It is very likely that

Baba will

leave Parthi anyday for Whitefield.

 

The summer Baba spends every year normally in Whitefield, so it will

be very

near to you.

 

FYI any transport can take you to Parthi. Rail, Buses, Taxi. (about

4 hours

trip)

 

Accomodation is Ashram or many hotels/lodges outside Ashram.

why dont u wait for some time...swami will be in bangalorevery

soon...well

right now swami is in parthi...u will get bus at 9:30am from

bangalore bus station majestic
