Guest guest
Sai Ram! I can somewhat remember Sai Baba saying that we have recieved this human birth because of praise worthy or good dharma in previous lives. I believe Baba also said that this life is a gift and we must be careful not to misuse it because human life is a great blessing. Can someone please elaborate on these ideas for me. Sai Ram! Amit May you have the Grace of Sai Baba with you at all times.
Guest guest
my own thoughts Life is temporary period visible to us during the LIFE CONTINUUM which is beginning less and end less. All things and we the human beings Only change our forms and names in every birth of this life continuum, When the favorable Conditions arise leading to sprouting of a seed or Human or an animal, As we need good ingredients go into making a coffee or tea or delicious pastry, or a meal, we also require The RIGHT constituents physical matters for human birth, which are derived from our ruminants of our past lives, Join together to attach to the life continuum time forming this human form and the life span for few years. So it can be understood, that the RIGHT ingredients, which join to for this life Are derived from our past lives formulations where we had RIGHT ingredients. Which is generally referred as good merits of past lives gave us this rare chance of HUMAN BODY. This is as simple as chemical formulae, just a chance factor only THE FEW GIFTED Take birth as human beings with human body, But THE HUMAN BODY has all the three Man, beast and God in them which struggle to ascend every now and then Among themselves, only on few occasions we allow the GOD to win, [Gems of Wisdom} Why we are not able to allow the Godliness , and why succumb to our mind and will ? Guest guest
Dear Amit, SAI RAM! i think (please don't hesitate to correct me if i'm wrong) the reason for the human birth being a gift is that, only as a human being will we be able to realise our true identities (as the indwelling Atma), and thus free ourselves from the cycle of birth and death. No other creature is capable of this; thus the human birth is a gift and must be used properly (similar to a boat used to cross the ocean of birth/death). i hope i was of some help SAI RAM! -mayuran
Guest guest
Amit, Swamy has said that if we realized how hard we had worked to obtain a human status we would not waste as much time as we do. The first time I met him he told me that we had agreed to a meeting during this lifetime before we took these lives and he had to put people in contact with me until I realized where he was; I was in the USA at the time. He says that we must take human births in order to learn the qualities necessary to eventually lead us to liberation. The human experience is filled with many many experiences. I recall Walter Cowan saying that he was surprised when Swamy resurrected him in Madras. Swamy took him before some people who had a large book and he was very surprised to see that he had been King Saul in biblical times and yet in this lifetime he was an orange grower. It is the common routine activities that we do that are important in affecting our karma. Our best approach is the perform these activities with the welfare of all in mind and if the situation arises as to who gets what, give some of your portion to others to eliminate the possibility of selfishness. Many years ago a young couple came to the Ashram with a young son who was covered is ash. His mother would clean him but the ash would reappear. Swany sent one of the students to direct them to an apartment. They attended darshan for just a few days when Swamy sent a student to tell them the problem had been solved and they could return home. Later someone asked Swamy about the boy covered in ash. Swamy said he had been a very evolved Sage at one time but his actions had brought him down. But even then he had enough goodness to produce the ash. He said he had made adjustments so that it would no longer be a problem.
