There were instances when I was bored of listening to my very favorite

music. There were times, when I just felt my all-time favorite dish -

potato fry, banal and totally unpalatable. There were times, when I

thought my favorite actor's action is too stereo-typed.

But two things remain a mystery to me - for their ever-new sweetness

and beauty. The Name - Sathya Sai and the Form that walks bearing that

Name.

Chakkera kante theepi,

Dhadhi saaramu kante ruchyamou,

Anaga nanaga maadhuryamathisayinchu

Athi kammani yee Sai naamammunu

Meeru manasaara bhajimpudee...

After being able to withhold myself for as long as 9 months, I was

made to run back to Parthi. The eyes were longing to have the glimpse

of the Love-in-Motion. The ears were longing to hear the nectar-packed

Voice or atleast a twinkling anecdote or an out-of-world parable about

Him. As a whole, my soul was feeling deflated due to the year-long

separation and was dying for a pump of fresh energy into it.

I arrive in Parthi at 6:30 in the morning. He comes in a car now. I

can see His Face through its window. With its sophisticated

shock-absorbers, the Mercedes could not bring a hundredth of the

gliding-effect I felt when I saw Swami walking. But that's

obvious...when the softest flower cannot dream to match the

delicateness of His Lotus Feet, how can the wheel of a car?

As Swami steps out of the car, all the people near-by, with no bar of

age, flock around Him, 'helping' Him out. They lay their arm around or

hold His Hand. Under the pretext of providing support, they enjoy the

rarest opportunity of touching the Lord. In fact, I think a bit to

realize who in fact is acting here...Isn't He, the Master of the

Universe, acting as if He is suffering, to give us the precious lesson

of forbearance?

Slowly He emerges forward and smiles elegantly. I immediately feel the

delight of the hundreds of longing souls around. He sits there for

sometime and let the people drink His sight to the content of their

parched hearts and then leaves with a blessing. I did not know how

such a short glimpse was enough to quench myself......who knew in the

Darshan hall?

As usual, I again meet great souls here and there, in Prasanthi, who

humiliate me with heights of their modesty and devotion. This time my

companion in the dormitory is a middle-aged man, seemingly a

South-Indian. His words, his dress, whole personality was a caricature

for me.....until he started humming a Bhajan.

"Do you sing?" I asked.

"I learnt Carnatic," he replied.

"Would you sing aloud?" I asked.

He hesitantly agreed and then there was no stopping..."Raghuvamsa

sudhaambudhi", "Bantu Reethi Koluvu" and some of my most favorite

Bhajans. (I updated my list of favorite Bhajans with two new ones

after he finished singing).

And on the Sunday, Anil Kumar took us again on a tour of devotional

ecstasy in his own style of presenting Swami's message. The essence of

the speech was, "Real birthday is when we follow the Master's

instructions"......Another pleasant experience was watching foreigners

providing answers to crucial questions on controlling emotions along

with giving direct references to Sai literature.

YES...Sai Rama has come with His Mission...and now you see the

impact...The Vedic knowledge is no more Indian...its UNIVERSAL. Even

the westerners digest the Oriental thought and speak with as much

authority as we do, on our scriptures. The essential point to be noted

here is that they do not just play-back the content of Swami's

teachings they read in books, but analyze, assimilate and enjoy their

essence.

Swami's Divinity has given them enough faith to initiate themselves

into the study of our sacred texts. In fact, they acquired a wonderful

practical knowledge by studying Swami's exposition of the treasure of

the Indian scriptures through the Vaahinis.

May the world be happy!

Dear Sairam,

I was so inspired on seeing your mail in sai groups.Really every devotee

is longing to see the Lord Sai to quench the thirst of their souls. It is very

true that every one should adopt the teachings of Lord Sai in letter and spirit

in carrying out our duties so that we can reap the benefit of Sai's grace.

At least we shall have to follow Nine code of conduct of Sai which would enhance

our purpose of this life.I feel all sai devotees should take a vow to practice

every day, one principle of Sai i.e."LOVE ALL ." Of course it is somewhat

difficult to follow but it can be achieved.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with saigroups.

With love and regards,
