Sai Ram, dear Berit, I understand only too well your feelings on the passing of

the children's grandpa, may his soul find bliss, love and light in the Lord,

because I lost my mother recently, and truly, it has taken me a long time to

find some kind of comfort, though I am grateful to Swami for giving her a

blessed, peaceful and happy death.

The same day she passed away, Swami gave me a dream in which he showed me that

he was with her, looking after her every step in the new path she was now

walking. That gave me much comfort and I felt very grateful to Swami for being

so kind and loving to my mother.

Do not think yourself to be a bad devotee simply because you feel the loss of

the children's grandpa and miss him. In time I have understood that it is

alright to grief for the loss of our loved ones. That it is alright to remember

them and cherish them in our hearts. That it is alright to continue loving them.

But that we should not let the grief and sorrow we experience when a loved one

departs this earth to make us feel depressed, despondent and continuously

desperate.

Swami's teachings have helped me much and they will certainly be a source of comfort to you too.

Though I remember my mother with great love every day and bless her memory with

my prayers, I'm also grateful that I had such a wonderful, loving,

exceptionally kind mother in this lifetime and I thank God for her. Thanks to

Swami I have been able to keep my heart a grateful one, always thanking the

Lord for everything he has given me and also for everything he has taken from

me.

A friend and fellow Sai devotee told me that it brings much solace to do acts of

charity, of selfless service, in the name and memory of the departed beloved

person, as well as to offer prayers for their wellbeing and happiness in

whichever plane of existence they may be. One friend even told me that, even if

the departed loved one has reincarnated, our prayers will always reach his or

her soul, even in their new earthly lives, and would help them. So offer deeds

of selfless service to the Lord in the name of the children's grandpa and pray

for the wellbeing of his soul.

Hope my words may bring some comfort to you in your moment of sorrow. May Swami

bless you, your children and all your loved ones, with his sweetest and

choicest blessings, now and always.

With much Sai love,

Gina
