Sign of Surrender

Pandavas and Kauravas decide to go for the war since the peace talks were

failed. Both the brothers of Kauravas and Pandavas visited Lord Krishna to

seek help from him for the war. Lord plays a divine drama to explain the

greatness of surrender. Duryodhana is a person filled with EGO and pride.

Arjuna is a person who is very humble filled with devotion to GOD.

Duryodhana comes to the palace of Lord Krishna and has been directed to the

personal chamber of Lord Krishna by the servant. When he enters the chamber of

Lord, he finds Krishna sleeping. Since he did not want to disturb Him,

Duryodhana sits near Lord head and waits for Him. Same time, Arjuna also

visits Lord Krishna and similarly gets directed to the personal chamber. When

he arrives he finds Lord Krishna sleeping and Duryodhana sitting near Lord’s

head, he takes his seat at the feet of Lord. Duryodhana, the embodiment of Ego

does not want to sit at the feet of Lord.

Krishna gets up from his dramatical sleep and finds Arjuna sitting near His

Lotus Feet and asks Arjuna about the reason for his visit. Duryodhana,

interrupts and says that he had come before Arjuna and hence the request of him

should be adhered first. But Krishna denies and says, even then Duryodhana

would have come first, he has seen Arjuna first and hence he would give a

chance to him first to place his request.

This is the power of surrender. Since Arjuna surrendered himself in front of

the Lord and sat beside the Lotus Feet of the GOD, the vision of God fell first

at the Yudhistra and decided to provide him the support that he can.

The above story teaches us that we should always try to be the humble servant of

our Swami and always be willing to do the Padasevanam (one among the nine

supreme form of devotion), which will fetch the Lord Himself to us.

We will see more about the Duryodhana and Arjuna’s request and the outcome of

the same in the coming days.
