Guest guest
We read about partial surrender in the earlier artcile. There is a small instance from the great epic Mahabaratha that explains about surrender. When Pandavas have lost their entire wealth and country to Kauravas on the game, they have pledged even their wife Draupathi and continued their game. They have lost even her in the game. Duryodhana, the elder Kaurava brother fetched his servant to bring Draupathi to the king’s court. There she was humiliated by pulling her saree by the younger brothers. Though that court was filled with great and learned people like, Bhishma, Vidhura, Dronacharya, etc., nobody stopped the kaurava brothers from doing this sin to Draupathi. When her saree was pulled down and she understood that her husbands have lost her in the game, she had none other than GOD to save her at that moment. She held her saree tightly and started calling Lord Krishna for help. But God did not come for her rescue. She cried and cried and cried. At last, she left her saree, raised her hand up above the head and cried for help from Lord Krishna. To the miracle, the saree started growing 100 folds than its size. The kaurava brother who tried to pull the saree, finally got tired and fell down on the ground. A great learning from the above story is that, surrender without any pre-conditions and believing in GOD is more important. Till such time Draupathy was holding the saree and crying for Lord, she had a small belief in her mind that till Krishna come for her rescue she can hold the saree by not being pulled. But when she realised she has got no part to play in this entire drama, she left her hand away and rose on air and called for help. This is the time when she understood that only divine will could help her and not her free will. Our surrender to GOD should be the same without any pre-conditions and expectations. Once we surrender to HIM we should not be thinking whether it could happen or not. Whatever is the outcome we should be happy to accept the same. Let us see more on the same topic in the coming days.
