Guest guest
Sai Ram. A festival occurring in the Tamil month "Thai" (January-February), the day of the star "Pusam" around Pournami (Full Moon) is celebrated as "Thai Pusam". It is a special day for worship of Lord Muruga (also known as Subrahmanya) and is celebrated in a very grand manner at all Murugan temples....... Mr Isac Jeevanandam, aged 65 now, is residing in V.K Puram in Tirunelveli district in the southern Tamil Nadu. In 1980, he lost his wife and was also affected by jaundice in the same year. He was admitted in a private hospital and the doctor had given Isac the "Vibhuthi" and other prasadam of the Thriuchendur temple (about 100 km from his place). The same night Lord Muruga appeared in Isac's dream and he was cured of his jaundice. Thus Mr. Isac Jeevanandham , a christian by birth, cultivated bhakti towards Lord Muruga and that year he started to visit the Thiruchendur temple by "PADA YATRA". He started to come with some 6 companions in 1980 and every year, all these 25 years, he has been regular in attending the "Thai Pusam" festival in Thiruchendur; not only that; he has been briniging along with him a contingent of devotees every year, about 170 was the maximum few years back. This year he has come with 107 devotees - by PADA YATRA. Mr Isac had also visited other temples like Amarnath & Bhadrinath. He claims to have covered more than 12000 kms so far by Foot as "Pada Yatra" to various temples. He even says that after 1980, he has not suffered from any disease at all and is still maintaining good health. The devotees he bring along in his pada yatra team respect him as a "Guru Swamy". Mr.Isac still remains a christian ( Baba's message " I have not come to convert any one; but to make a christian a better christian...... ") and does not impose his Muruga Bhakthi on his family members ! source : http://www.dinamani.com/NewsItems.asp?ID=DNO20050125125511&Title=Offbeat+Page&lTitle=%A9%5C%F9Nn%A7Ls&Topic=0 Jai Sai RamYours in Sai SevaThara Balaji Balajees, Doha, Qatar
