The 4th dimension in Medicare.

 

Knowledge, Technology, Money and ….?

 

Knowledge in the field of Medicine has grown in leaps and bounds. New

discoveries are being made everyday. Technological advancement has been

spectacular. Newer diagnostic as well as therapeutic techniques have made

difference to many a lives. But….. Considering holistically, has all this made

our patients healthier, more satisfied with the services offered and feeling

really cared for?

 

Equally importantly, has all the advancement made "THE DOCTOR" happier,

healthier and satisfied with their professional contribution? Financially many

amongst us are possibly much better off. But let us ask ourselves has money

been able to buy us peace and happiness? Do we feel happy at our inner core? Do

we feel satisfied at the end of the day? Does our conscience trouble us more

than occasionally?

 

If one had to go by the morbidity statistics, as is well known, the incidence of

stress related disorders is very high in Medical profession. What is the missing

ingredient in our work which is taking out the joy of satisfaction from us and

making us more stress prone? Surely any work that you enjoy doing can not

produce stress. Time has come to reflect on the issues, our attitude to our

work which affect the health professionals and the patients both. Is there a

way to create a balance between our needs and the needs of our patients?

 

We need inner core happiness as much as any one else. To discuss some of the

issues involved and share our experiences,

 

Sri Satya Sai Seva Organisation ,Navi Mumbai has organized a half day conference

at SAIPREM, Sector 10A, Next to Balaji Temple, Vashi, on Sunday, 23rd.January

2005 between 9.30 A.M. to 2.30P.M.
