Guest guest
EXPERIENCING SWAMI FROM WITHIN - By Ted Henry Dr Wayne Dyer Dr. Wayne Dyer is a prominent American best-selling author and internationally recognized lecturer. Recently he was interviewed for a television news programme in Cleveland, Ohio. In the course of that interview Swami’s name came up, and at the first mention of Sai Baba tears appeared in his eyes. He has never seen Swami in person but said that he was well acquainted with Baba because He appeared often in his dreams. How come Swami is blessing Dyer by regularly appearing in his dreams? That is because Dyer is an intensely spiritual person. He is regularly featured on Public Television in America and he is considered one of the foremost inspirational speakers in the field of spiritual growth and personal development. He has written 25 books over the last 30 years, many of which have been bestsellers throughout the world. For the first decade of his life, Dyer lived in an orphanage and foster homes. He now looks back on those years as being some of the most formative years of his life, a time during which he learnt the important lesson of self-reliance. He sees himself as the Eternal Soul who is disguised as an author, lecturer, father, husband and a thousand other things – he obviously takes his Advaitam seriously. Part of Dyer’s popularity is due to the inclusion of many quotes from Swami in his books and presentations. One of his observations demonstrates his closeness to the Teachings of Sai Baba: “Send out love and harmony, put your mind and body in a peaceful place, and then allow the universe to work in the perfect way it knows how”. In public lectures around the world, Dyer invariably brings up the name of Sai Baba. “I am not sure why He comes to me,” he says, “it just started happening several years ago. This is a Being who lives at God Consciousness who has, as Jesus had, the ability to manifest at will (like Jesus manifested fish and loaves). All of us have the ability to manifest, but there is the timeline between what we think and what we do.” In a recent TV interview Dyer exclaimed, “Even as you speak (about Sai Baba), I get very emotional. I could almost break down and cry right now. It’s not a tear of sadness; it’s not a feeling that I am hurt in any way. It’s just the most blissful, peaceful (feeling). Do you know what it feels like to be in a warm shower when you have been out in the cold? It’s like having a warm shower running inside of you.” This is how Dyer describes Baba’s appearances in his dreams: “It’s an energy that moves up and down your spine and gives you goose flesh; only, it’s internal goose flesh. It’s just bliss. That’s the way it is and that’s how I feel.” When asked why others don’t have such access to the many qualities of Sai Baba, Dyer replied that everyone has access but they do not want it. He adds, “It’s just that they believe they don’t. It’s like your question itself (about this) has resistance built in to it. You know the idea is that if you believe you don’t have something, then you don’t have it.” Dyer says this is how people create resistance to what they want. “If you use phrases like ‘the worst-case scenario’ then you just can’t have ‘the best-case scenario’. You know, ‘as a man thinks, so he is’. It’s based on simple metaphysics. Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change.” Often in his talks and frequently in his writings, Dyer teaches about non-attachment. About meeting Sai Baba in India one day he says, “I am not attached to it at all. Honestly, I am not. I don’t have any illusion that if He were to walk into this room right now, that it would be any different from this very experience (of talking about Him) right now”. Dyer adds, “It’s because I already feel Baba’s presence in this room right now. It’s just that strong.” Dyer says, “I have a very, very strong internal knowing about my connection to Source (God) and Sai Baba is someone who lives at this level of God Consciousness. In David Hawkins book Power v/s Force, he speaks of a handful of people who live at this God-Realized level. He says they are steadfast in their abstention of thoughts of harm, that they don’t exclude anyone and that they include all, and Baba is one of those beings that calibrates at one of those exceptionally high spiritual levels that is commensurate with Source. He is Source Energy. He lives at Source Energy. He is God. We are all pieces of God, and He is there all the time.” The latest book written by Dyer, The Power of Intention, describes the force brought to an individual’s life by ego and how it interacts with fear. “When you get ego out of the way,” he says, “when you just allow (life to be) and if you knew who it was who was walking beside you at all times on this path, then you would have no fear”. Dyer continues: “One of the quotes I like from Swami Paramananda is that when you reach God realization, nothing can go wrong, nothing can go wrong. All you have to do is live at the level I am speaking about and you don’t have to go around practising or worrying about it, you just have to reach for higher vibrational energy at any moment, which means staying connected to Source. One of the great questions to ask is, “Would God have this thought?”, and then to remind yourself that you are God, that you are a piece of God.” Dyer says that by definition, anything that excludes cannot be spiritual. And he says that nearly all religions exclude. It’s one of the thoughts that makes this famous author so popular among those who know him. His life is dedicated to inclusiveness. It’s one of the reasons he speaks so forcefully about Sai Baba. He knows Sai Baba is all about inclusion. If Wayne Dyer is against anything for anyone, it is exclusion. http://www.radiosai.org/Journals/Vol_03/01JAN01/misc_esfw.htm

As far as I am aware Deepak Chopra and Steven Covey have only mentioned Baba fleetingly in a couple of their articles..........but Dr Phil and Tony Robbins have NEVER mentioned Swami.....in either their books or lectures.........as yet !! Guest guest
Thank you so much for letting us know that Dr Wayne Dyer knows about Swami. When I use to read his books I use to think that this person must come in contact with Swami. Also I want to mention that people should read his books as his books are amazing . Thanks a lot Sai Ram Soumendra
Guest guest
Sai Ram All , I thought to bring this out -does Dr Deepak Chopra knows about our Swami, as he usually quotes ancient wisdom so I was wondering if he knows about our Beloved Swami.I saw Dr Deepak Chopra in Larry King live and he was talking about cosmic consciousness and he mentioned about collective prayers and it's impact- Anyway if these elevated souls come to know about our Swami it will be good for mankind. I want to narrate a incident of Isaac Tigrett who was the owner of Hard Rock Cafe and also he contributed large sum for Swami's Super Specialty Hospital . He said that in one of his meditation session he saw Swami taking him high above the sky and there Swami told him that there were in Russia. Now here he saw that whole Russsia was covered with dark clouds so later he found out that it was covered with fear consciousness. Swami asked for his help and they together started to clear the dark clouds by poking with a needle as if taking air out of the balloon.Later Tigrett mentioned that for His task He needs our hand otherwise it becomes difficult ,each one of us can play a role and people with great talents have pivotal role for mankind and thus can save the world from destruction and perdition. Please understand that at the authors being discussed are not really 'leaders' of any kind..neither has it been suggested that they are ' anywhere near to Swami'. These are only self development and leadership facilitators/ authors who have written some excellent books which by the way , are on the reading list of the Sathya Sai Leadership Training Programme. A Sai sister simply asked whether any of these people have ever mentioned Swami in their lectures....that is all!! If you read the emails carefully you will see that no one has suggested that these people are in any way 'substitutes' or alternatives' to our beloved Swami....so please rest easy brother Nimish! Baba Himself says that we should be open to all; and in fact recommends that we read all spiritual material if we feel it may help to enhance our understanding of the Universal Teachings and Principles; thereby helping us progress down our spiritual path. It is also very narrow minded to suggest that by reading other material, our attention could possibly be diverted away from our Swami in any way!!! I am just so happy that you too follow the positives tought by these great spiritual leaders. Someone has just replied saying that we should be happy with just swami in our hearts....I agree....swami's love is so deep and vast that we cannot help but be in his love al the time....but then, isn't it this - swami's love- that attracts us to other like minded people? i mean, such as deepak chopra, tony robbins, wayne dwyer etc?? Of course it is! It is god's love that has created these individuals aound us so that we may learn from all walks of life. I don't know about other people but me, I have swami's name in my heart all the time...even when i am reading or meeting these other beings....Isn't it great to have this love of swami live on. I love reading tony robbins and wayne dwyer etc cause they tend to bring me back home to swami! they act as anchors in my life.....swami is always by my side...however, little old me doubts that sometimes and these reminders from great people helps!! Have a fun and lovely day, bakula X ---------- Soumendra Bhattacharjee <soumendra_toronto Tue Jan 11, 2005 10:10pm Re: [saibabanews] Re: Wayne Dyer & Swami Sai Ram Brother Nimish , Why are you so agitated brother? why this border of demarcation? Please understand in what context we are discussing- find the source how it it started? and what made you understand that we are not following our Beloved Swami. Dont worry we all are special -we all are His image- Cool down. Please read this poem of Nelson Mandela it will help us all--- Our Deepest Fear Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is what we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant , gorgeous, talented and fabulous ?" Actually, who are you not to be ? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us ; it's in everyone . And as we let our own light shine , we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same . As we are liberated from our own fear , our presence automatically liberates others. - Nelson Mandela Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavanthu At the feet of Sai Soumendra

I do sometimes find myself reading Ammachi's (Mata Amritanandamayi) discourses as well as her biography. Sai Babaji's name is mentioned in her biography. Sometimes it is interesting to hear what other saints and sages have to say about Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Several prominent spiritual leaders such as Anandamayi Ma as well as Mahamuni (Kriya) Babaji and disciples of his lineage had mentioned about Sri Sathya Sai Babaji. I have read that in Karar Ashram (of Sri Yukteshwar who was the Guru of Sri Yoganandaji) you will find a photo of Sri Sathya Sai Baba posted at the top of the collage of pictures of several Indian Saints in the Meditation hall. Thanks to Soumendraji for quoting Nelson Mandela. It is inspiring to read some of the enlightening quotes from some of the people who are like ourselves and have spoken out of their own experiences. What Nimish said has some truth to it. People pay attention to celebrities. You mention the name Oprah Winfrey and everyone knows her because of the television. When people are constantly in the limelight, the public begins to rely on these people. Nothing is wrong if they pick up some hints or qualities to enhance their lives but the public goes even further to look upon these people the way we look at Swami. Swami says talking too much can get one into trouble, in the same way, too much email is bringing upon negativity. Let's all shape up. HELP EVER HURT NEVER!!! Sai's divine love to one and all. ---------- "Salma Jahan Khan" <salmakhan Wed Jan 12, 2005 7:58pm Re: [saibabanews] Re: Wayne Dyer & Swami Sai Ram to all I totally endorse the views of Brother Madhvi. Lets open our hearts and minds and flush out everything negative. There is a lot of good in this world and Dr. Wayne Dyer is a proof of that. To acknowledge the greatness of any teacher in no way diminishes the glory of Swami. One of the most appealing aspects of Swami is that he never excludes anyone. I think the same can be said of Dr. Dyer. Lets keep our hearts and mind on the bigger picture for that is the message of our Swami. Sai Ram to all. I know he is not a major world spiritual leader, but he talks and writes well and he has lot of courage in writing down what he believes. His books about spirituality are well written and and they are very good in helping all beginners. God bless him! Maya. Sai Ram
