Guest guest
Light and Love The Gopikas were such that they provided lustre to womanhood. Whether in the matter of patience or forbearance or friendship, they showed exemplary conduct. It is wrong to regard this sacred path adopted by the Gopikas as something trivial. This sacred devotion shown by the Gopikas and by Radha should remain ideal examples for all time. The Yugas may have gone and lifestyles may have changed, but the ideals of the Gopikas and the leelas of Krishna have stood the test of time and they are always fresh. All these actions of the Gopikas were representative of the actions of the Jiva with respect to Brahman. The inner significance of this is to say that our mind is the Brindavan and our ideas are the Gopikas. The Jiva is Radha and the Atma is Krishna. Thus, in the Brindavan of our heart, the Jiva, in the form of Radha, along with ideas, in the form of Gopikas, are performing leelas with the Atma. Do not be under the impression that Brindavan was somewhere and the leelas of Krishna was performed there. Regard your heart as Brindavan and yourself as Radha and surrender yourself to Krishna, the Lord. Your thoughts must be like the thoughts of the Gopikas. He is also known as Bombay Srinivasan as he lived in that metropolis and held senior positions in private companies for over 25 years. He moved over to Chennai in 1982, and established his own industrial unit and was running the business till 1997. He wound up his business so that he could pursue a pious life and concentrate on spiritualism. The devotee of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the 67-year-old Srinivasan had the first darshan of his guru in 1965. In-between these years, he says, he enjoyed the warmth of His grace at every stage of his life. He has two sons, S Venkatesh and S Ramesh. Both of them studied for over seven years in Baba’s institute. Sri Sai Baba initiated them into the Gayathri mantra after performing their Upanayanam. The Baba also performed the Sashtiabthapurthi of the Srinivasan couple in His interview room, producing the thali for the wife and an emerald ring for the husband. Srinivasan was a convenor of a Sai centre in Thane (near Bombay). It was at that time that Baba visited and blessed the inmates of the central jail. After shifting to Chennai, he served as convenor in the T Nagar Samithi with active participation in service in the adopted slum at Bharathi Nagar. Baba made a personal visit to the area and blessed the people there. Now Srinivasan is an active member of the Sri Sai Padhuga Trust, assisting president. Srinivasan Chettiar. Last year, he looked after the job of fixing the gold foil in Sai Kulwant Hall, at Prashanthi Nilayam. He considers the over six months that he spent there in close proximity with Baba to be the golden period of his life.
