Guest guest
Bhaav TaranginiPosted online: Friday, December 17, 2004 at 0000 hours IST “Among the various art forms, spiritual music and natya give happiness in my soul” said President of India Shri APJ Abdul Kalaam at the conclusion of the dance drama Narthaki Kirtanam by leading Bharatanatyam dancer Vasanthi Sridhar and her students at Sai International Centre in Delhi last week. The dance drama was based on 21 abhangs and kirtans, written by Vasanthi Sridhar and sung by Hariharan and Suresh Wadkar on music composed by Ashit Desai. These recordings are available in Times Music audio album Bhaav Taringini which was also released on the occasion. According to Vasanthi, the project took shape when “the abhangs were divinely revealed to me in Sanskrit, Marathi, Brij Basha and Telegu”. The stage presentation commenced with a Sai Kirtan, to mark the birthday of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Then salutations were paid to all Lords and Devas including Shiva and Shakti, the omni-present deities for classical dance exponents.Former Election Commissioner T.N Seshan, who was called to felicitate the performers, stated, “.. the heart, head and meditation of a pure devotee alone are capable of such bliss. We are also so fortunate that the President appreciates our culture”. http://www.screenindia.com/fullstory.php?content_id=9566 Yours in sai's seva Deepak Bharwani Updates of SAIRAM website at http://sss340.tripod.com/pnnews/links.htm Homepage: http://mumbai.mtnl,met.in/~sairam Attachment: [not stored] Version: 7.0.296 / Virus Database: 265.5.4 - Release 12/15/
