I would be grateful if some one can remind me of internal flights to

Puttaparthi-- days and time of flight. Also would like to know cost in US

dollars.

Need this information for a friend who will be going to India and will be going

to Baba's Ashram

Here is some information about flights from Bombay to Puttaparthi,

however note, if you are going to travel in February the schedule

will probably be altered to adjust to the season. May your journey

Bangalore-Puttaparthy IA flight from Oct 11

Chennai, Oct 5: Indian Airlines today said it would be introducing a

new service between Bangalore and Puttaparthy, the abode of Sathya

Sai Baba, with effect from October 11.

 

An IA release said here that an Airbus A320 service would be

operated on the route on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. It would

leave Bangalore at 1.30 p.m. and reach Puttaparthy at 2.00 p.m.

 

In the return direction, the flight would leave Puttaparthy at 2.40

p.m. and reach Bangalore at 3.10 p.m.

 

The one-way fare on executive class would be Rs 2,640 and in the

economy class it would be Rs 1,825, the release said. (Our

Correspondent)

If your friend plans to fly to Mumbai (Bombay) or Chennai or Delhi,

your friend can take a Airline flight to Bangalore and then can

either fly from Bangalore to Puttparthi or take a 3-4 hour taxi-cab

ride to Puttparthi.

 

Fare from Mumbai to Bangalore is US$150.00 and fare from Bangalore

to Puttparthi is US$50.00

 

Your have choice of 8 to 10 flights a day from Mumbai to Bangalore

between 2 main Airlines India Airlines and Jet Airways.

 

HOWEVER, flight from Bangalore to Puttparthi only flies once a day

at 2:00 pm and only three days a week on Monday, Thursday and

Saturday.

 

You have much more flexibility taking a Taxi to Puttparthi and costs

between $35.00 and $60.00 for up to 4 passengers and are fairly safe

and secure and are easily available at the Airport in Bangalore.
