When man gets rid of desires, he need not go through the cycle of birth and death. Successive births are caused by unfulfilled desires and are determined by them. But, the desire to know God, to love God and to be loved by God is not a desire that binds. When the awareness of God dawns in all its splendour, every worldly desire is reduced to ashes by the burning flames of that awareness.
