Guest guest Posted November 23, 2004 Report Share Posted November 23, 2004 Governor visits Puttaparthi "The Hindu" 24 November 2004 Andhra Pradesh PUTTAPARTHI: The Governor, Sushil Kumar Shinde, made a brief visit to the spiritual town on Tuesday to seek the blessings of Sathya Saibaba on the occasion of the latter's 79th birthday celebration. He was accompanied by his wife, Ujjwala Shinde. On his arrival at the airport at 1.45 p.m. the Governor was received by the district Collector, Y.V. Anuradha, the Superintendent of Police, R.S. Praveen Kumar, the DIG of police, N. Jayaram Reddy, the Joint Collector, Shashibhushan Kumar, the Chairman of Sri Sathya Sai Urban Development Authority, Kota Satyanarayana, the in-charge ZP Chairperson, C. Obi Reddy, among others. From the airport the Governor drove straight to Prashanti Nilayam and had darshan of Sathya Saibaba. After taking the blessings of Saibaba, the Governor made a brief halt in the guesthouse and left for Hyderabad.
