Sai Ram!

According to Swami "every human being has four birthdays. The first

is when he emerges from his mother's womb, and being neither holy or

unholy, craves only for food and shelter: the second is when he

begins his spiritual study to lead him from darkness to light: the

third is when he has gained wisdom, having mastered the disciplines

propounded by the rishis for acheiving self-realization: the fourth

and last is when he realizes his true identity and merges with

Brahama."

i hope this helps!!!

RE: [saibabanews] What Swami says about birthdays

Sai Ram Brother Rasheed,

As far I can can recall, I remembered that Swami said, birthdays

must be celebrated with the intension of discarding our negative

qualities year by year as we grow more matured. HE also said `Don't

wish ME `HAPPY BIRTHDAY` ! I AM always happy, you must be happy

yourself first!

Love/Dev.

.................

Know that I am Sai in reality,

Cast off your worldly relationships,

Give up your efforts to restrain Me,

The worldly attachments can no longer bind Me,

None, however great he may be, can hold Me. (Telugu poem)

Since I made this declaration on the 20th October, people celebrate

this day in a big way. We should not give too much importance to the

dates and try to celebrate them as birthday, Avatar Declaration Day,

etc. Once Rukmini, the consort of Lord Krishna invited Him to her

palace saying, "Swami! Today is my birthday. Please come for

dinner." Sathyabhama, another consort of Krishna who was present on

that occasion was angry. She argued, "If today is your birthday,

this is also the day on which I entered into the in-laws' house.

Krishna tied the nuptial knot round my neck on this day. Therefore,

He should visit my house only, on this day." Thus, the day turned

out to be a day of quarrel between the two consorts....

Sai Ram!

Every year on November 23 the Advent of Bhagavan Sri Sathya

Sai Baba is celebrated.

Legend: "This is not my Birthday; I have no birth or birthday; I am

ageless, eternal. You must celebrate your birthday, when you are

born into Knowledge, not into bondage. Adore Me, on the day that you

are I, on the day when you derive unbounded bliss therefrom, on the

day when you can be full of joy that you are born."

- Quote from N. Kasturi, Sathyam, Shivam, Sundaram II, p 263
