News from Prashanti Nilayam, October 16-22, 2004

 

October 22

 

Yesterday Swami gave dicourse Swami talked cleanliness, how Swami

made every effort to keep Himself as clean as possible. Swami said

that He doesn't like smokers and when He give interviews, if some

one who smokes has been called He will ask them to wash there mouth

before talking to them. Swami even talked about Swami's child hood.

It really was interesting to listen to Swami talk about His daily

routine. The yagna is still continuing this morning.

 

October 21

 

Yesterday Swami gave dicourse Swami talked about Shankara Charya.

And other Saints who spent all their life time for the sake of human

kind. The Yagna still continues and the more and more devotees are

reaching puttaparthi each day.

 

October 20

 

Yesterday evening there was a discource by Swami, and during the

discource a divine thing happened. Swami was narrating the story of

Markandeya (if you want to know who Markandeya was

always-sixteen.shtml) and asked the devotees if they knew what kind

of Lingam did markandeya pray to and asked what color etc. Then from

the thin air Swami materialized and showed a lingam and said that

this is the Lingam. It really was a divine experience. Before Swami

two other people spoke. The yagnam still continues today.

 

October 19

 

There is a big hoarding on the main gate "Avatar Declaration Day"

from 19th - 21st October. Yesterday evening three devotees gave

speech, on of them was a professor in Swami's college. Today morning

the yagna still continues. The crowd is getting bigger each day.

 

October 18

 

Yesterday evening there was discource by Swami, Swami talked

about "belief how people should believe in each other etc. Swami

asked when some paper writes a news you believe what the journalist

write even though you have not seen what happened. When you can

believe that why cannot you believe a God who is infront of you.

These were some of the words swami spoke.

 

As we said yesterday the Grama Seva continues today too, there

nearly 20 to 30 truck carrying food and clothes to the villages

surrounding puttaparthi. Which will be distributed by the students

who are doing the seva.

 

As i am writing this the yagna is continuing in mandir which will

only stop on the last day of Dasara.

 

October 17

 

Today morning there was yagnam in poorna chandra auditorium as part

of the Dasara celebration. There will be speech in the evening. The

grama seva or distribution of food is going on in puttaparthi today.

Even we got prasadam and clothes. Tommorow they will go to the

surrounding villages. So the Dasara celebration are in full swing

now.

 

October 16

 

Yesterday Swami distributed shirts and caps to the students who will

be doing seva for a month or so, yesterday the kalasam was also put

in place where they will do pooja and on the last day dasara is

celebrated with swami's blessings.
