Guest guest
Dear Sai brother Salian, May i express my views on your observations. The Carniverous animals kill and eat flesh.they eat only for their survival and not for any sensual satisfaction. Ratnakara was a forest dweller who used to kill and rob people and indulge in violent activities. The moment he was revealed of the law of Karmic consequences he repented and turned towards sathwic ways - simple living meditating being clean inside and outside constant contemplation of God, He adopted in toto to Sathwic life style- the result- ratnakara became Sage Valmiki. Initially,Ratnakara defended his actions- he was indulging in violent activities only for the sake of his family and not for himself, second he was unaware of the higher self, and Divine laws .But once he was informed in clear terms, itwas an instant reveletion -he renounced violence adopted to ascetic schedules of life , firmly installed God within and from then onwards there was no looking back. Many steps are required to catapult ourselves from Ratnakara that we are - in a sense- to a higher level if not to sage Valmiki level. To attain this we have to necessarily follow the Divine prescriptions. I have read about people in Siberia or nearby placeswhere vegetation itself is rare and there is compulsion to survive only on nonveg food. But even here there are devotees, Sai or Iscon, who without compromising, strive to live on vegetarian food and sathvic life style. To summarise, my dear brother, do,not think analyse debate argue, just live the Sai way. Swamy being avatar is with us always. so proceed with full faith Sairam Crishnan "L.T. I have come across some Non Vegetarians who otherwise are God fearing and live a life full of human values. I have also come across some Vegeterians who are absolutely Tamsic in nature. So essentially I feel, what is important for each one of us in the Sai Family is living a life full of human values & eradicating the Tamsic qualities. It is no use saying that we are Vegeterians but otherwise possessing animal qualities. Developing Sathwic qualities is a constant process and does not happen overnight. For some it may take many lives, for some a lifetime and for a rare few & fortunate the transformation can be instant and total as a result of their good Karmas (I call it Karmic credit) & Sai's Grace. To conclude I will say Vegeterianism is not a spiritual tag to be worn as a visiting card but to be sincerely used as a tool for spiritual pursuit & spiritual development. These are my humble views and I stand to be corrected. Sai Ram
